Very cool. I was 14 when Elvis died. I can still close my eyes and visualize the scene when I found out Elvis had died. I was a big fan and it devastated me. The news of Ed's death will forever be etched in my brain the same way. Most of the time I can't remember where I set my car keys down at, but these two events are emblazoned on my brain forever.Comment

I was 9 when Elvis died. We were in the car...entire family...news came across the radio. Mom started to cry.
I so get that now......no celebrity death has come close to this for me. Was numb for a couple of days. Now just crushed...really grateful to have been the right age to appreciate the man's absolute genius.
I've seen the articles citing polls..."#8 in the RS all time blah blah blah...
Ed's #1 in my book. He could do it all...Write grate songs...play fantastic Rhythm guitar, innovative, and could solo like no other. The undisputed Champion...hands down.Comment

Damn... bunch of kids. I was 19 when Elvis died... shook the world, for sure!
The time I visited Graceland it was a really bizarre experience... his Jungle room sported the exact same avocado green shag carpet as my childhood home. That was weird but the further I advanced on the tour... there was this strange energy about the place and near the end where you can visit the garden where he's laid to rest that energy was overwhelming... my wife even noticed I didn't feel right and asked me what's up? Just said... gotta get away from here and I'll meet you at the car.
Left there and headed over to Sun Studios... that felt like a spiritual experience and you could sense the musical magic in those small studio spaces. Much happier place..."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment
