Zero idea this was shot for a video..
Hadn't heard a thing about it before.
Kinda makes sense, though, seeing as they apparently had a promo video for Loss Of Control from the previous album, although I wouldn't have necessarily thought SAITP/OFOTD would have been the tracks singled out by the band for FW promo vids.
Scramby eggs and bacon.
I've seen these pics years ago. We'll eventually see the video, I'm sure...
Trolls take heed...LOG OUT & FUCK OFF!!!
Aaaah One foot out the door... What a shame it didn't last longer, I mean the guitar solo in the end. Two more minutes... Same for House of pain and Drop dead legs.
This outdoor video, if it exists, must be delirious.
Very odd low production. Who's fucked up idea was this to shoot that video????
There's allegedly some unreleased material that Warner Bros still has from the early CVH era... Supposed to be more of this interview release Nov 1.

I guess the pictures are down already. Were they new ones or the same ones with the dinosaur in the background from The Inside Magazine long ago? I always assumed they were for "Mean Street" for some reason.

VH FOREVER!!!!!!!
Oddly enough I just heard someone say they were just a TV lip-sync appearance in Italy 1981.
Yes, and very obviously so.....

This one from French TV is even funnier. Why the fuck was Dave pretending to play electric guitar on "Unchained"??
No I mean the dinosaur footage. Do you know if it was just a promo like the ones you posted above or an actual concept music video like "Loss of Control?"
Damned if I know. In context, it would seem that in the lip syncing promos as seen above, the whole idea was the band miming to a song on a tiny stage without any extra stage props like dinosaurs or whatever. So I would think the dinosaur idea was meant for an actual promo video meant for MTV (which started in 1981) or other music video programs of the day, like HBO's "video jukebox" (I think that's what it was called... that was 40 years ago, so memory's a little foggy)
I remember wondering this when I first saw it on an unofficial compilation VHS in the 1980s.
Apart from it being a bet or just fucking around, the best theory I came up with was there was no mic stand available. It's bad enough having to mime like that but without a mic stand to hold onto it would have been uncomfortable. This was back in the unsophisticated days when they didn't put cables in the guitars never mind mics on the drums to hide the miming. Nowadays I've noticed they even put individual cables in keyboards...
