It's always tough to really figure out what the actual sales are, but we have to assume they're in the ballpark.
Best of vol.1 did sell 4,000,000 worldwide when it was released, that's definite.
I remember at one point that Van Halen 1 was still selling roughly 1000 a week around 2010-12 just in the States.
Anyway you look at it though, the Roth era outsells that lazy bone Hagar by a wide margin.

Know what I really like about the Distance video? Dave's in it and Hagar isn't.

It was my first thought too while watching the video..., make no mistake the best RNR frontman is DLR no question, ever. Van Halen is the best ever Band EVER no contest. EVH is THE BEST EVER. I was lucky to attend to 7 Van Halens event as DLR calls them. EVH had everything remember in the 80s when we had nothing but mtvs. EVH smiling while doing what we can't fucking accomplish SOBER on guitar, those were the best years...
I was looking for something else from the 2004 debacle but came across this
found what I was looking for
Wolfgang Van Halen announced his first solo concert as Mammoth WVH: a performance at the 2021 Aftershock Festival.
The former Van Halen bassist will play the final night of the event, which is currently scheduled to run Oct. 7 through Oct. 10 in Sacramento.
Other acts scheduled for the fest include Metallica, Mastodon, Social Distortion, Limp Bizkit, the Offspring, My Chemical Romance, Rancid, Seether, Machine Gun Kelly, Rise Against and Pennywise.
General admission and VIP passes, both in single- and three-day configurations, are available to purchase at the Aftershock site. Wolfgang Van Halen tweeted the news, writing, "See you at @AFTERSHOCKSAC with @MammothWVH in 2021!"

Wolfgang in Spin Magazine. I'll leave out most of what we've already read...
What do you remember from Van Halen’s last tour? Was there a moment that particularly stood out to you, maybe at the final show at the Hollywood Bowl in October 2015?
I got a really funny story about that. Nobody’s asked me about this before, so I’m glad you did. I’ll set it up for you. Throughout the whole tour, Dave [David Lee Roth] had an issue whenever someone in the audience had a beach ball. Outdoor theater, summer concert, Southern California party rock, Van Halen — it’s not out of the ordinary. But every time he saw them, it would really upset him for some reason. And he would stop singing and then stand at the front of the stage and say, “Throw the beach ball up here, throw the beach ball up here, throw the beach ball up here” eight times until it eventually got up, and he would stamp it out. Then he’d throw it off the stage. I guess he just really didn’t want that out there.
Before the very last show, the tour manager came up to my dad and me and whispered, “Hey, you’ve got a funny little surprise for all of you guys at the end of the show.” We’re like, “What?” And he goes, “At the very end of ‘Jump’ when you’re doing the ride out, we’re going to release 50 beach balls from the top of the audience. And we’ll just see what happens.” But even if he gets pissed off, what was he gonna do? It’s the last fucking show. And sure enough, we get to “Jump,” and there was just a cavalcade, an avalanche of beach balls, and Dave was just, like, short-circuiting. He didn’t understand how to handle it. But we all laughed it off. And it was just a really fun, almost like a fun practical joke. And yeah, that was a really fun memory of that show. As time went further and further by, the more I thought about it like, “Wow, if that is the last show, what an amazing way to cap it off.”
With a joke to boot.
Exactly. That’s exactly how dad would have wanted it.

Went into it with same loathing feeling towards Trunk as you and totally agree with this post. After listening to Howard ask in 20 different ways, “so what was it like having EDDIE VAN HALEN as your Dad?!” This interview was a breath of fresh air.
I also think Wolf tells more personal stories when he’s comfortable with the interviewer. I cracked up when he said Ed referred to System Of A Down as Lalalalalala. Hopefully, he keeps an open line of communication with this sort of press.
(Was replying to Von’s post about Trunk on page 3. Whoops. Forgot what the hell I’m doing.)

Anybody else hear that self serving piece of dung Clichegar has invited MammothWVH to tour with The Circle next summer? I seriously doubt Wolf would want to listen to that band butcher his Dad's music every night.

If Wolfgang only wants to play lounge bars and casinos he doesn't need to support Sammy Hagar.
Discusses Dave touring and being the future face of Van Halen...

To me Mammoth will always be these guys...
Hey Sammy...get some friends your own age!
I saw something about Wolfgang saying it's OK that DLR plays Van Halen songs. First thought is well, Dave co-wrote and sang that stuff, he SHOULD play it. Second thought is how shitty of an interviewer do you have to be to ask Wolfgang that? How do you not know that CVH has always been part of Dave's solo setlists?

Wolfgang will be premiering a new Mammoth WVH track when he's guest DJ on Sirius Classic Rewind tomorrow at 5 pm.
Or not. So far they've played Distance. Maybe that's it.
No new Mammoth WVH song. He played Dirty Movies, Jump, Eruption/YRGM, and one Hagar song.
Available on demand on the SiriusXM app.
I saw some promo stuff yesterday and all they mentioned was Distance... I figured that would be it.
Distance has been nominated for the Best Rock Song Grammy.
Best Rock Song
“All My Favorite Things” – Rivers Cuomo, Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson & Ilsey Juber, songwriters (Weezer)

Foo Fudge Fuckers for the win.

Now there's a song I haven't heard in ages.... Always thought it was a bummer that TAD never got the same recognition as other Cascadian bands. They certainly deserved it more than fucking posers like "Candlebox".

Nice to see Wolfgang getting some recognition... First solo song released and in the company of McCartney. Good for the kid!
