Considering how effective Trumps campaign that Biden's government would be a radical socialist one was at stopping people from voting Democrat especially in Florida, it seems very unlikely that the US could elect anyone much to the left of Biden. Even if you did then they would never get anything through even a Democrat senate.

I don't think all these left leaning Youtube commentators are being realistic.

That's irrelevant, because they're going to call ANYBODY in the Democratic party a socialist. According to Republican talking points, Joe Manchin and Joe Lieberman are just as "liberal" as Bernie Sanders. They literally called Hillary "the most liberal senator in history" when she was running in 2008, just as they said the same thing about Kamala Harris this year. It's not remotely true, of course. But they never fail to drag out those talking points every election cycle.

It accomplishes two things, neither of which are good.... first, it plays well with the brainwashed Batista fan club in Florida, which is really unnecessary, because 98.6% of that state could vote for a Democratic ticket, and they would still find a way to steal it, as the corrupt BCE infrastructure is still very much operational in that state. Second, it gives the DLC Turd Way fake "democrats" cover so they can keep pandering further to the right wing all the time. Obvious examples being Biden's list of "guest speakers" at the DNC convention, as well as the majority of the announced cabinet appointments.

If you're going to be called a "socialist" anyway, might as well act like one and work for the policies that might actually reverse the toilet spiral this country has been in since 1980. (And by "socialist", I'm talking about what FDR did, and what LBJ did, aside from killing 58,000 Americans and a million or so Vietnamese for no good reason. Hell, even Eisenhower would be a "socialist" by these standards. He was pro-unions, built infrastructure and taxed the inheritance rich leeches at 91%)

Also it's more than the Batista voters now you also have a problem with a bunch of Venezuelans.

The Venezuelans have been brainwashed in a similar way though. Everything Chavez did was "evil" and Chavez was a "socialist", therefore, anybody we (the US corporate propagandist machine) throw that label at is another evil commie like Chavez. Of course Chavez was never as evil as the CIA and the oil companies made him out to be, but that reality is usually lost on the brainwashed opposition, as it was on the Batista fan club.

Ford I actually listened to most of your last video post... Kulinski was onto something but he, in my opinion, got it wrong.

Rather than the rise "Trumpism" being a counter response to Obama's moderate record and being the first black president. I see it differently... Trump's rise was far more a response to the fractured and ineffective leadership within the Republican party.

All of the core things Trump has accomplished were all there within the conservative playing field. People wanted someone who can actually get things done. The Republicans in power prior to Trump just couldn't get shit done... period.

Sounds like you pretty much agree with Kyle then. Neither the Republicans nor the corporatist DLC fake "Democrats" were getting anything done for the people. Cheeto used a lot of populist rhetoric during his 2016 campaign. He didn't really mean any of it, of course, but it played to his advantage, because he was running against Hillary, and she openly ran on more of the same thing that they got from Barry & Bill.

Had Cheeto been running against Bernie Sanders, Bernie would have not only had the populist rhetoric, but also a track record that proved he actually believed in those issues, and certainly would have governed that way if he had been in office. Not to say that he wouldn't have faced obstruction while in office, from corporatists in both parties, but as Kulinski pointed out, from the FDR era, is once America started to recover from the Great Depression, most people were gainfully employed & infrastructure was being built, most Americans realized that FDR's policies had saved the country, and they voted for him in the next three elections... even many who might have otherwise voted Republican.

If the Democrats would return to the party of FDR & LBJ (aside from Vietnam) they would probably have a lock on the White House for at least the next 12 years, assuming Biden probably won't be running again in 2024 at the age of 82, but that Harris would then run for 8 years on her own. If such a thing as an Eisenhower Republican still existed, they might have the same chance of holding office, as long as they delivered things similar to what old Ike did when he was in charge. I believe which ever party actually "delivered" for the people - and not for the corporations - would have a level of support that far exceeds Joe Biden's electoral vote count in this race.
