    EVH at Jason Becker's House

This is awesome stuff. I really appreciate Jason Becker posting this. Great thing to do, for his fans, Ed's fans, and fans of both. Wow.

Not to mention, probably one of the few, if not only, times we will get to see Ed jam a little of "Me Wise Magic" and "Can't Get This Stuff No More".

    Very cool video.

Watching that you wouldn't have thought that Jason would still be here nearly 25 years on.

It's always bugged me Dave only gave him one sentence in his autobiography never mind visits and so on.

Crazy. Jason is still here and Ed is gone. Who'd of thunk it?

It's a clue Sesh. Sometimes it's better not knowing the truth about people. Especially people on a pedestal. Or a stage. Or a tv or movie screen...

Dave is a private guy when it comes to things like this.

He doesn't use it for publicity cause that would be at Jason's expense.

We don't know how many times Dave has checked in or visited him.

Yes we do. Jason Becker has stated himself he's never heard from him.

          Quit being a Dave apologist.

I'd just as soon not meet Roth, myself. Have no desire to do a meet and greet with him and get a pic with/autograph from him...or anybody else who is famous, to be honest. They're all just people in the end, and from the few famous people I have encountered, to a person, ALL of them in the flesh aren't anything stellar.

Back in the 1980's, doubtless as a teen I would have thought getting to party with Roth would have been a non-stop parade of booze, blow and babes (maybe back then that might have been true to some extent some of the time)...and that the image onstage or onscreen was the reality of what the person was like behind the scenes.

You get older, you know better. Or at least, one SHOULD know better.

Also remember there was the documentary a few years back 'Not Dead Yet' which included Gregg Bissonette, Steve Hunter, Richie Kotzen so basically everyone apart from Roth. Also Joe Satriani and Steve Vai.

It seems very unlikely Dave wasn't asked.

                Not being one.

Perhaps what Jason says is true.

But just pointing out that not everything gets put out in the public for all to know and see.

Ed played the intros to Can't Get This Stuff No More and Me Wise Magic.

Props to him for paying Jason Becker a visit. Poor man, totally paralysed and condemned to watch, motionless, speechless... while he was such a wizard too, what a huge, promising talent reduced to naught.

The last two tracks in A lil ain't enough, it's showtime and Drop in the bucket, which he co-wrote with Dave, are my fave closin tunes in Dave's catalogue.

That video was just a week or two before the MTV Awards fiasco. Would've been interesting to hear him talk about Dave being "back in" the band.
Also, as far as Dave not mentioning Jason much in his book keep in mind I barely remember him mentioning Steve Vai either. Dave probably doesn't remember the Little Ain't Enough period all that fondly since that is when things really dropped off. I thought he said some very kind things about Jason from what I remember.

As I remember Ed said he had no idea just how sick Jason was, maybe he wouldn't have taken the guitar as a present if he had known. Not easy to think of things to take him at that stage even if he had known to be fair...
