Eddie Van Halen playing Amsterdam at 5150 Studios

It's a pity he didn't come up with this earlier it could have been a great song but Hagar couldn't write a decent vocal melody for a complex song like that and of course his lyrics were an embarrassment.

I think the date may be a bit off, maybe 1987?

Same "in between tours" short haircut, like when he was on SNL with Val. So maybe '87. And Heineken!

Well, the hockey jersey he's wearing has "1986 champions" on it, so that definitely takes 1985 out of the equation. Assuming it was 86 or 87, I can't believe he put this riff back in the closet, in favor of all the synthesizer bullshit ballads that ended up on Ou812. Must have been because Hagar couldn't write anything for it? Even a decade later, the best he could come up with is dumb lyrics about how you could get high in Amsterdam (which wasn't legal anywhere else at the time, of course)
