    DLR Band 1998--looking for reviews

I am working on a project and can't seem to find any reviews of The DLR Band, except for the fairly positive one from the AMG All Music Guide. Does anyone know where I can find any achieved reviews? Any scans? A Google search has yielded few results.

There is one, in particular, I am looking for. It is a cartoon of Dave (in his 40s) looking at a younger version of himself in a mirror. I thought I remember seeing it in Guitar World, but I could be wrong. Any professional reviews of the DLR Band would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Do you mean archived? :

When you say reviews of DLR Band, do you mean the band itself? The album? The live show? I'm sure there are people around here that can help you locate stuff. But being more specific would help.

What counts as professional is blurry these days I liked the review done here in 2004 by Rikk.

    http://www.rotharmy.com/forums/showt...AND-Re-visited

Since it predated much of the internet and this site (just) there aren't as many as you would think. One way would be by looking for 'David Lee Roth solo albums ranked' to get shorter summary reviews.

    I found

Thanks. I don't think SPIN or RS bothered to review it.

I remember there was a buzz on the old VH mailing list and AOL boards. Bought it the day it came out, part of the summer soundtrack of 1998 for me.

Listened to it today, a really good album that's held up well. I think the three guitarist approach worked really well, as it gave the album different styles and approaches. Helped launch the careers of Luzier and Lowery too. Hartman, like Becker, was robbed of a chance to be one of his generation's guitar heroes.

I stumbled across it in a Strawberry's record store...hadn't even heard the album had even came out or anything. Was actually looking through the Roth section/slots looking for a copy of The Best when I came across The DLR Band cd.

A different world. Some things are worse, most better.

For anyone that thinks things are universally shit now, consider this pandemic without the internet, Netflix, Zoom, Skype or the new tech that allowed vaccines to be developed so quickly...
