I can't believe anyone would go see GNR these days, let alone go see them in a venue like that, with seats like that.

Not too many bands I want to see anymore. Slash himself is probably bigger than GNR and he’s probably the draw. Slash did a good job creating a unique image around himself and GNR was something different when they broke. More classic dirty rock than spandex posers. People want a new angle that has some catchy songs but we live in a media fragmented society and streaming killed the record industry. What gave people the incentive to create bands and grab attention was getting a record deal. Who promoted you was the local radio stations that the kids listened to. Everyone had their local DJ who was the big shot of the town and these guys had a lot of say in what got played because many of the stations were locally owned.

That’s all gone. Why people go see these bands now is nostalgia. It’s no different than my dad going to see the latest reincarnation of the Glenn Miller Band. Of course it wasn’t as good as the band was in the 40’s but it brought his high school memories back and that’s why he bought a ticket. Not that the band was great or had something new to offer.

They want to pretend they are back in high school and college. I remember being dragged to a Paul Revier and the Raiders show and being surrounded by a bunch of drunk old people pretending they were teenagers in the 60’s again. It was pretty lame to watch but now our generation are the lame ones going to see Guns and Roses and hoping Eddie Van Halen will be reincarnated through his fat son who does have some talent but is boring.

Loved that song when I was a little kid. Still have the 45. And ironically, that was before I knew I had any Cherokee blood.

Growing up in an era where the wild west was a central theme in the US... generations of kids from the 40's thru 80's playing cowboys and indians was a right of passage. Somebody had to be the Indians... Songs were written...

So, Guns and Roses are going to play their shows.
But WVH is cancelling his shows because of COVID.

The venue/promoters called the cancellation... WVH is just being diplomatic and mature about it all.

The drummer is killing the game. I love him on the Tremonti albums, too. Wolfie can jam and he can sing, too. Unlimited potential at this point. ADKOT showed that he had the chops. The album and tour takes it to a whole new level. I'm impressed. As a diehard Van Halen fan (DLR era... the REAL Van Halen) and since nobody asked... he is missing the counterpoint of a Diamond Dave. The humor and swagger. Mammoth WVH... really good, no doubt. It's real and authentic. I love 4 or 5 songs on the album... but the six pack... timeless, from my perspective. But, we don't need to compare even though I just did. I can't help it. I'm glad he's doing him and I support it 100%. He looks genuinely happy on stage and it's good stuff. The band is great with special props to Garrett Whitlock (drummer). I'll continue to keep I'm the One, Feel Your Love Tonight, Somebody Get Me A Doctor, Light Up the Sky, Romeo Delight, In a Simple Rhyme, Mean Street, So This Is Love!, Hang 'em High and Girl Gone Bad on heavy rotation on my play lists. Thanks for the post, ZahZoo.
