So the Russian Army wanted Chinese PLA rations?

Apparently the big rectangular thing is some form of fried rice? Well... it couldn't be any worse than Panda Express, I guess?

A quick google failed, I would be interested to know how many MRE's the US military has stockpiled - I bet it's an insane number.
I did find that they are maybe $10 a meal, which I bet is a bit more expensive than the Chinese one.
It's probably 10's of millions, some are deep frozen giving them nearly a decade of shelf life. The freeze dried over can style ration has been around since 1980 and they regularly are 5-7 years of shelf life if properly stored, though special operations and aviation had used MRE style meals since at least the 60's. The first one varied from decent to awful, the heater element didn't come about until the late 80's making even the worst menu choice palatable. I recall eating "Franks-and-Beans" and it was horrid cold, but okay warmed up.
To be fair, the 1989 ration guy said the other Chinese menu items were good, it's just the Pork Chow Mein (menu item 13) that is I assume made by a corrupt manufacturer that is vile and made him sick on his first try even though it was only a year old. He mentions how he partially ate a US Army 1906 emergency ration of dried meat and chocolate and felt great after...
Looks like anywhere form 55M to 233Million depending on what a "case" is...
DLA’s MRE inventory levels fluctuate based on the flow of purchases
from industry and sales to the services, as shown in figure 3. Based on
data from fiscal years 2007 through 2014, on average DLA purchased 3.3
million MRE cases from industry per year and sold 3.56 million cases per
year to the services. The average on-hand inventory level was about 4.66
million cases. In addition, the data show that the average yearly MRE
sales to the services decreased from about 4 million cases in fiscal year
2010 to 3 million cases in fiscal year 2012 and remained relatively
constant at around 3 million cases from fiscal years 2012 through 2014.
There were also decreases in annual purchases from suppliers starting in
fiscal year 2010.

It was ridiculous and implausible, but wasn't gov't-funded propaganda. The writer/producer (forget his name) was a hard right borderline fascist that usually put out movies featuring authoritarian themes and violet solutions to problems.
Haven't seen it in years, but it's still one of my favorite bad films...
I think on movies like Top Gun the military gets to sign off on the script in return for access to the hardware so kind of a bit like government funded propaganda.
Ukrainian attack helicopters allegedly attacked and severally damaged a Russian fuel depot on Russian Federation territory. The choppers looked like Mi-24's from Red Dawn...
Ukraine claims Russian forces have left Chernobyl, handed over control
"Ukraine state energy company Energoatom said Friday that Russian forces have handed back
control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
"Energoatom claimed the pullout happened after soldiers received "significant doses" of radiation
from digging trenches in the forest in the exclusion zone around the closed plant."

I'm not afraid of any nuclear war. All I ever need to do is "Duck and Cover" and I'll be alright. After all, "Duck and Cover" has a 100% survival rate.
This guy is beyond fucking cool. I suggest you watch his video log. And its non-Koch funded. Unlike SOME videos in this thread.
Never mind slave FORD's Koch-funded horseshit, this is way better than that Russian propaganda:
More dead Russians. Yay!
See, unlike that lazy liberal ilk that slave FORD rolls with you cannot reason with psychopaths like Putin. Only a matter of time until one his closest staff members puts a bullet or two into his bald skull.
Have a nice day

This guy is a total dick. Really gets on my nerves. Is he up for reelection this year to do this shitty photo op?
No the prick has another couple of years minimum - it's an embarrassment. He's in massive reverse gear after being pretty fucking friendly with Russian oligarchs but now using Ukraine to try and distract from the spectacularly unpopular revelations that he was at about 10 or 20 parties during lockdown and then lied about it.
Basically he got in because 100k conservative party members chose him in the 'primary' and the guy in the other party was deemed as completely unelectable by swing voters - like Bernie Saunders x 10.
Ukrainian military sinks the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet:
I'm not sure how the lying liars of Russia think that your flagship accidentally suddenly bursting into flames and sinking is so much better than it being sunk by the Ukraine.
Uhhhh... yeah, we totally meant to sink that battleship, comrades. Nyething to see here.....
True but a missile cruiser is the nowadays equivalent, the most expensive powerful ship outside an aircraft carrier.
The latest official story from the Russian lies industry is that there was an accident and then it sunk in stormy seas.
All of this is important because if Ukraine loses it's ports at Odessa it becomes an economic basket case. Most people don't realize just how much of our shit still gets moved around by sea. It's also one of the reasons so many countries landlocked in Africa are permanently fucked.
Yup. Britain became powerful because it controlled the sea lanes. It controlled the choke points like Gibraltar, Singapore and the Suez Canal. It's why London became the world's tranding center and the legal system governing the seas is in London. Whoever has the most powerful navy rules world trade. But crafty private corporations can usurp a nations military to guard their interests. The East India Company used the British military for their own interests. Now the US military is bing used for the interests of corporations. There lies the danger.
Ukraine could turn into another world war real easy. Backing Putin into a corner is dangerous. If we force him to use tactical nukes we are off to something nobody wins. A better alternative is give him an out, make Ukraine neutral. We have pushed Russia and China together and now other countries are siding with them. Geopolitically that is not where you want to be.
Anyways, the western governments are operating on full on crazy mode and the citizens seem naive on what the consequences are. Darwin at work.
Pearl Harbor is still being polluted by oil from the Japanese attack. Parts of France are off limits due to danger of explosives left from World War One. Mines still explode on the Falklands from the war there. Every now and then a sheep blows up. So yeah, war isn't good for the environment.
