The one thing I'll give this series is that, unlike the really shitty Star Wars sequels, they actually put the band back together.

You just reminded me that I had only got through half of this and then forgotten to watch the rest - or maybe it wasn't that great.
The only one of these recent Star Trek/Wars TV things I've actually thought was good was Andor.
I'm actually in the middle of re-watching Picard as a Roman with hair in 'I Claudius' from 1976...

Sesh...BBC shows were almost always much higher in quality than typical American network shows.
Dallas is probably my favorite TV series of all time...but for the most part, the BBC made shows with such high-quality writing and acting, they hold up perfectly today.
And damn, does I CLAUDIUS still hold up or what? I have the whole series in a DVD box set, and I love it.
After my back surgery, I was holed up in a hospital bed in our living room and I watched lots of old BBC shows during my down time. I watched I CLAUDIUS, I watched the surviving episodes of Peter Cushing's SHERLOCK HOLMES BBC show. I also watched a couple of excellent BBC TV movies (from the 70s) of Shakespeare. Their JULIUS CAESAR show was pretty incredible. It had Charles Gray (from ROCKY HORROR, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER) playing Caesar...it even had the kid who played Damien in DAMIEN: OMEN II in a small role. The performances were stunning.
British comedy too. One episode of FAWLTY TOWERS is better than 20 episodes of almost any American sitcom.

I've learned to take Kristy with a grain of salt. Hell, I've learned to take Kristy with a whole bag of salt 'n' vinegar chips.
I married an Irish/English/German/Scottish/French girl.
I did one of those ancestry tests (well, my brother did but we have the exact same parents) and I'm Swedish/Armenian with a bit of Norwegian, Scottish and Egyptian blood.
All this makes my daughter Irish/English/German/Scottish/French/Swedish/Armenian/Norwegian/Egyptian.
I guess that makes my daughter part-limey.
Her teeth are fine.
I play Van Halen around the house a lot. If I leave my iTunes going and something like HUMANS BEING or GET UP comes on, my daughter makes a face and says, "Baba, why are you playing Van Halen with this awful singer? Put on Dave."
I'll add to this that the English created Monty Python and Jeeves/Wooster. The English still have the best sense of humor on the planet, in my opinion.

Poor girl. I grew up in Canada (though I'm actually American), but I was never a hick. But she's still free to hate me if she wishes.
All this time I pictured her as an angry limey woman, shouting at the computer screen with a Terry Jones-ish British woman's voice.
