    A 2011 census showed only 1.7% of people in Scotland had some Scottish Gaelic skills, In a population of five million-plus this amounts to around 87,100. I've only met one Scottish person who ever spoke in Gaelic.

    This will depress several Roth denizens who have used Scottish Gaeili in their posts.
