Cenk For America 2024!!

"If the American people had ever known the truth about what we (the BCE) have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched." - Poppy Bush, 1992
You need to get out more.
Meanwhile
This year alone, there have been 7663 gun deaths excluding suicide in the US.
There are more alcohol related deaths per year, than gun deaths, by far. There are well over 10,000 a year in alcohol impaired accidents alone. Ban cars? Ban alcohol? 95,000 people a year, die from alcohol related causes. It costs the U.S. $250 billion a year. FACT!
It's clear that gun control is a dead issue in the US, no matter how many children have to die.
Americans are an inherently selfish people. It's always "my rights." "You can't put limits on that because it goes against my rights."
Never mind that those limits may serve greater society. That isn't an argument in the selfish American mindset. "My right to unfettered access to firearms is more important than a child's right to not be gunned down at school."
Australia has gun control, but that doesn't mean you can't have a gun. Kristy regularly goes shooting with her father in law who has a quite impressive number of firearms.
Gun control will not work in America. Despite all the evidence that easy access to firearms results in more mass shootings, the go to argument in the US is more guns. The shithead Republican answer was more armed police on school grounds.
The only way to see any form of gun control in the US is for every minority group to exercise their constitutional right and start packing.
You'll see state legislatures enacting bills on gun control very quickly.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been more than 17,000 gun deaths so far this year, the majority by suicide. There have been 213 mass shootings where four or more people were killed or injured. Of these, 10 have been mass murders with four or more killed.

(notice how many of these gun deaths are in red states)
It comes as no surprise these fuckhead Republicans spewed their usual horseshit about " mental health" (while gutting funding for such programs) claiming the only solution is more guns and brute violence, so that the “good guys” can kill the “bad guys” before they carry out their attacks. What a better way to get America's children to look forward to being in a police state?
Kristy is married? What?
Really Von FFS?
The US is a weird place that somehow is ok with a thousands of people being killed each year unnecessarily whatever if that's what you want to do fine. Make all the pretend arguments but it all falls apart when you compare it to anywhere else.
It's the fake pretend bullshit wringing of hands when the children get killed that is sickening to watch. Thoughts and prayers? Fuck off. Man up if you gave a shit you would do something about it. You don't so just say to the parents tough shit and move on.
In Scotland I was working at the childrens hospital when we had our school shooting back in the 90s and I can still see the parents faces standing outside the emergency room. We banned handguns and there hasn't been another since in the UK I think you have had a few hundred since then. Another may happen but it will still be a super rare thing. What I don't understand is people like you not wanting stricter gun control so that you are the only folk with guns, why are you desperate for 18 year olds to have assault rifles or people with mental issues?
Interesting, yet as of 2020 guns are the largest killer of children aged 1-19 years...FACT!
