It was. Huey and guitarist Chris Hayes along with their manager filed a lawsuit on behalf of Chrysalis Records. Like in most of these cases, they signed a NDA and settled out of court with Ray Parker Jr and Sony Pictures. No one knows what the actual monetary settlement was. Parker to this day is still credited with writing the song.
