She's really the epitome of all that's wrong with music today in that knowing the music industry is beyond dead it survives by producing and exploiting hacky idol acts like K-pop for a younger audience too fucking stupid to care other than what a Spotify app algorithm tells them what to listen to. Poppy plays the act well - or at least she does on stage which I personally find to be entertaining. She writes her own material (some of it bad, some better, most of it passable) hires her own band and makes her own touring decisions so in a way she is saying "fuck you" to the industry that built her. Or that she's just getting older knowing too well this whole pop star horseshit is short-lived. By the time she is 35 she'll be doing duets with Adele and Cher when not doing Dancing With The Stars.
