Keep trolling, ELBOW - and all your future posts will be moved to the crybaby thread.
You're the crybaby...
Every time you say die in a fire, fuck off or dafinger...
Or when you underline your italicized, bold bullshit...
You're showing your true crybaby blue color...
I'm not the bitter no-talent bitch trolling threads, that'd be you. And don't hate just because you can't figure out how to format text in vBulletin... Post an MP3 of your "playing" or STFU.
I asked about covering the signature with lacquer. Was informed that it might cause the signature to turn brown in the next several years. Thus, I opted not to have it done. Also, the photo it comes with is not signed. However, it does come with a cert. of authenticity signed by Eddie.
Lastly, I did NOT buy this as an investment. If it goes up in price great. If not I don't care. I purchased it because I'm a Van Halen fan. I wanted to hold a piece of whatever my idea of Van Halen is in my hands. Call it a mid life crisis thing, reliving my youth, or whatever.
I lived the glory days of Van Halen - early 80's to mid 80's are the greatest 5 year span of fun the US ever saw in my lifetime. We were coming out of a major economic down, gas shortages, and everyone in the US thinking and believing we were down and out. Van Halen brought the music that made you feel good, made you want to have a good time, and move forward into a better time. Least, that's the way I remember it. Their music is the soundtrack of my youth.

And now you own a piece of VH history. Congrats!
From what I recall Ed grossed over $1 million in 04 & 07/08 on these EVH Art Series axes. Most were going for $10-15K back then. Plus he hawked one every show.
This tour I haven't seen one go for over $10k yet and appears he's not doing one for every show. So I'd figure his take isn't going to be so great...
I have to wonder if outside of the artsy thing and supplemental income... if his primary motivation isn't more to protect his intellectual property rights for his trademark protections for the stripe pattern. By keeping a periodic product flow it keeps his claim more solid from a legal perspective so he and his legal goon squad can go after little guys trying to sell striped guitars...
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
The ones I tracked have averaged around $ 9,000.00. Although a few have gone for over $ 10,000.
Like this one:http://www.ebay.com/itm/180900894486...84.m1438.l2649
I think they would go for more if more people knew Van Halen was on tour. I have friends that I told I went to the St. Louis show in late May and they had ZERO idea the band was on the road. They would have loved to have gone but didn't have a clue they were touring. I came across these guitars by accident. Glad I did. I have no idea he was doing this until 2 months ago.
Interesting point on his rights. However, his property right are established from the trademark and/or copyright filed with the US Government. There is so many goods that EVH puts out that have the stripe on it that he's protected on a daily basis. Whatever the reason I'm glad he's doing it. I got to own a dream.
Wow, the one I liked went for $10K? It was kinda unique color-scheme wise...
The last two of these went up for sale. The prices are getting impressive!
I really like this one but you got to believe its gonna go for huge dollars noting the price right now:

This one is currently going for more:

I guess collectors want the 'last one' but the one before is much nicer.
Someone must have fucked up for him to play the same one twice.
Those two just ended...
The first one went for $ 19,100.00 and the other went for over $ 20,00.00. Towards the end (the last 5 that were for sale) the prices shot way up.
You got a good deal...
I did. The best deal I saw was one of the NC guitars. It ended during a holiday week and went for around $ 5,400.00. It ended about 8 weeks ago.
Yeah, you did score. I'm still flippin' out over how cool this one is...whoever got it also scored...the only one Ed dug enough to use twice.
I totally agree dude...
I'm almost tempted to paint one like that myself...
I have two or three bodies that would be good candidates...
The Music Man was a cool custom guitar for sure. He sold out with Peavey. I'm sure it's still a nice guitar. I like the one he is playing on the tour. The flat black is cool. Needs some stripes though. I have a Music Man. Beat to shit ! I don't really play anymore but it looks good in the living room ! Lol.
I thought it was odd it they're only using two springs on the Floyds, but I'm noticing in the few instances where they show rear shots of the guitars seems like they have FU Trem Stopper/Stabilizers installed.
Would make total sense, and you could get away with (using .09s) two springs and a D-Tuna, dive-only.
Here's my set-up for .10 - .52s... this is one of the ones I usually have set up to float, but I like being able to lock it down for re-strings and maintenance.
Just installed one in my oldest Charvel mutt last night for .10-.52 dive-only and a D-Tuna, used 3 springs.
