Trump’s Next Criminal Charge Is Practically on the Calendar

Former President Donald Trump’s second criminal indictment looks all but certain to go down this
summer. You could even mark it in your calendar: Sometime between July 11 and Sept. 1.

That’s because Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has formally asked local officials to beef
up security during that window, when she plans to announce charging decisions in her long-running
investigation of Trump’s attempt to reverse his 2020 election defeat in Georgia.

She wouldn’t need all that extra security if she weren’t planning to go after Trump himself, former
prosecutors and legal experts say.

DA Willis asked Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat to prepare for a “significant public reaction” to her
announcement, which she said would occur during the court’s fourth term of this year—a two-month
period starting on July 11. Willis said she wanted to give Labat time to prep for possible attacks or
violent demonstrations.

A New York jury on Tuesday found former President Donald Trump liable for sexually abusing writer E. Jean Carroll in a Manhattan department store in the 1990s, but not liable for her alleged rape.

The jury awarded her $5 million in damages for her battery and defamation claims.

Asked on their verdict sheet if Carroll, 79, had proven “by a preponderance of the evidence” that “Mr. Trump raped Ms. Carroll,” the nine-person jury checked the box that said “no.” Asked if Carroll had proven “by a preponderance of the evidence” that “Mr. Trump sexually abused Ms. Carroll,” the jury checked the box that said “yes.” Both allegations were elements of Carroll’s battery claim.

The six men and three women also found Trump had defamed her by calling her claims a “hoax” and “a con job.”

Trump, a 2024 presidential candidate, has consistently denied Carroll’s claims. The jury verdict carries no criminal implications.

The legal standard for liability in the civil case — the preponderance of the evidence — was not as high as in criminal cases. The civil benchmark is that it’s more likely than not that something occurred, while the standard for convictions in criminal cases is proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

I could see Trump unprompted grabbing her by the pussy (figuring nothing chanced nothing gained) since it would seem completely within his character to do so. That's not even a comment on anything political, but just how Trump has always come off to me.

What I think is bad about this is the Republicans leaders saying it was just a political stitch up.

It was a unanimous jury verdict and anyone that watches Trumps own deposition would see he was guilty as hell. It's not quite as bad as the Prince Andrew interview but it's up there.

If any "politicians" played a role in this at all it would be the BCE. Because the things Cheeto admitted to in his deposition was pretty much a repeat of the Access Hollywood "grab em by the pussy" video. Which was leaked by Chimp's cousin, Billy Bush.

Admittedly, that's a bit of a stretch... unless his cousin Jeb told him to release the video out of spite, after he lost the primary.
