Phil X has that SG dialed in pretty fucking good. They should get David Lee Ralph to go out with them. They'd sound good.

Of course, I went to a Steel Panther show a couple of weeks ago and the place was packed. I doubt Ralph is going to move away from that gig anytime soon. They are some funny motherfuckers.

Mike's timing and inter-play right in the pocket off the backbeat of the drummer is one of the clear elements to my ears of what great bass players bring. The notes aren't complex but the timing is fucking spot on... right where it creates the perfect tension within the rhythm and brings massive energy to the song.

Off topic but, yeah, I think it takes some absolute skill to write "novelty" or "fake" songs that sound "real".
Especially when they sound better than some bands serious attempts.
Credit where credit is due. Some of the SP tunes are catchy as hell.

They are all really great musicians! Plus it's their fun factor hat makes them entertaining.
