Three hours of this shit? I might save this for a couple weeks and watch it instead of the worst possible "Super Bowl"

Meanwhile, here's some cheesy "Christian Rock" to go with the thread.......

    I think so.

The last bit is kind of hilarious not just the applause but her protection of the general public from these vile words.

I thank the chairman the title of that tape was Hot for Teacher and we will give each Senator a copy of the words they'll promise not to distribute them beyond their own possession
10 million copies sold in the US alone of course but god forbid a senator shares them.

The thing of it was this attitude - that rock music was literally an instrument of the devil - I mean, a lot of people took it dead serious back in the 1980's.

One incident which still stands out to me is in 7th grade. 1982-1983. First year of junior high school. One of the science teachers was a devout Roman Catholic. Italian guy. My school district in the Northeast back then, probably a good 60% of families were either Italian or Irish and many of them were practicing Catholics, the remaining 40% a mix of Wasps and Jews. Anyway, we're in science class one day, and this kid shows up wearing a KISS Creatures Of The Night t-shirt. Kid barely gets in the door and starts making his way to his seat when the teacher tells the kid to follow him out of the class. Nobody knows why, since the kid was an honor roll student and a pretty meek type, never bothered anybody. Turns out the teacher brought the kid down to the vice-principal and began lecturing the kid and the vice-principal on how the band KISS were satan worshippers and how KISS stood for Knights In Satan's Service, etc.

Fucked up, right? And this was in a supposedly liberal New England state that has virtually always gone democratic, election-wise and not some Bible Belt Red State. Another thing that stands out in my memory is I had a friend whose parents wouldn't let him watch that Twisted Sister video for We're Not Gonna Take It, because the song and the video promoted anti-authoritarian behavior.

I mean, the idea that grown people could feel threatened by a jerk-off, cartoonish band like Twisted Sister...seems as bonkers today as it did back then, but all that stuff happened.

I got hauled to the Principal's office for wearing a t-shirt that said "Harley's Best, Fuck The Rest". They called my Mom and she was so pissed at me. Got me out of school for the day though! Got to watch The Price Is Right and Let's Make A Deal!

I did three years in Catholic school (6th through 8th) and regularly drew KISS stuff in art class..and regularly heard about it from the penguins. Parents came to family night or whatever and they didn't have trouble finding my drawings on the wall.

Same Catholic school...my uncle was a well-known biker. Big guy, 6'6" or so, full sleeves both arms, long beard. He'd pick me up on the Harley and take me to school. I'd get off the Harley and all these kids would run up to us, wagging their fingers and telling us we were going to hell. Good times!

Ha! In second grade I wrote a dirty poem in class and drew a dirty picture to go with it. I was just bored as I often was in school and the girl next to me grabbed it and was horrified and gave it to the teacher. The teacher was horrified and dragged my ass to the principal’s office. My mom was called and she came down. I then was interrogated by both my mom and the principal over what adult exposed me to these things. They were convinced some pervert got to me and they were going to nail that son of a bitch. Well I saw the Playboys my friend stole from his dad. I knew what tits and pussy were but I had no idea what you really did with them. They just could not believe I could know about sucking dicks, licking tits and eating pussy on my own. Someone exposed me to this. The reality is I made all that shit up in my twisted little mind. What I learned was the adults were sucking dicks and eating pussy for real! Yuck! I thought the adults were a little nutty but not that far gone.

Sammy Hagar is as Satanic as they come. His music always gives me this bad feeling. Red is the color of the Devil.

According to the religious reich types in the 80s, it seems every band with a 4 letter name, the names were "abbreviations" for something evil or Satanic.

KISS - Knights in Satan's Service
Ac/DC - Anti Christ Demon Crusade
Rush - Ruling Under Satan's Hands

And the one that really cracked me up....
Asia - All (for) Satan In America - which was really funny considering all those guys were British.

At my finishing school, our sister school was an all-girls Catholic boarding school which was right next to our campus.

Those girls were, like, the horniest school age girls I'd encounter during my school days. I dunno if it was them all being shut in together with no boys or having that whole 'sex is the devil' thing drilled into their heads day in and day out. But those girls would sneak out of their rooms nightly, sneak into our dorm and be down for anything. Very, very, very naughty.
