Would be an interesting turn of events if it really happened, wouldn't it? I'm not saying that it's probable or even possible.....but what if...?
Yes, that would kickass for Mikey to finally standup to VH and join Dave!
It wouldn't matter either way for me
I'm a Hagarita Sheep, so I'd love it no matter where Mikey went!

I somehow doubt this would ever happen. Hell, who would leave that sitation. Although its not what it was, I guess. They are no longer the super drawcard they were, maybe I will reserve my right to answer this until after the sales figures of both tour and CD come out, and the ensuing finger pointing begins.
If an original thing is never going to happen, I guess I could see Mikey spending the rest of his days getting fatter and fatter with Spammy, doing the occasional pajama gig at Cabo Wabo..

Why on earth would Mikey make the same bone head move that Dave made.

Dave would never let Mike into HIS band, he has a bass
player who can actually play. Mike's strong point was always his
vocals and they are great!!! But as a bass player? You can find
better playing in your local bar.
Not to mention he is in love with Spammy!

Mikey's harmonies have been the only thing missing from Dave's live shows the last few years. Ray Luzier over Alex "the neckbrace" Frankenhalen, easily, and Brian plays Eddie's stuff better than Eddie does now. Lomenzo's probably a better bass player than Mikey, but I'd do the trade if it meant getting back the harmonies which are part of the trademark Van HALEN sound.

I was about to post some smart-assed "Dave would be gaining a liability in the rhythm dept." comment.
Actually, Mikey's background vocals really rounded out VH's sound.
Dave and Mikey together with a decent guitar player and drummer would be great stuff.

Well...maybe it would be cool...but then we'd all still be pissed because it would be like "one down...two more to go!" It still wouldn't be Van Halen.....you can't really have Van Halen without the Van Halen brothers.
I think it would probably almost annoy me more because we'd be a step closer, but never there. Ya know?

I would definitely pay to see it though, but it would be a little heart renching for me.....a little sad.
wrenching
I always wished DLR would hire Mike's younger brother Dennis, who is also a talented bass player, to join his band. I went to high school with Dennis and the bands his was in during that time were great. He has the same vocal range as Mike and would be fun to see DLR keeping it in the family - wishful thinking.

If that happened it wouldn't matter either way, I really need the whole package.
And it will never happen, Mike just LOVES Sambo.
I voted yes, but I still am not too sure... James Lomenzo is WAYYY better than Mikey... BUT it would be the best band Mikey's been in in about 19 years...

i see mikey joining sam's band but not dave's....i always thought it was weird that he preformed with sammy but never once stepped on stage with dave during the 2002 tour

Dave said "NO WAY', and why the hell would Dave do anything with that fat fuck, try to remember all the shit talk from dough boy, "i will never play with Roth" remember him saying that, then all of a sudden he changed his tune for the Dave and S... tour, why? Cause he needed Dave, Dave doesn't need him, FUCK HIM, let him go and play with sperm wagon in his pyjamas' at that fuckin gaybar.Originally posted by EmpyreLounge44

Who's Mike Anthony?

You know, we really don't know how good of a bassist Michael Anthony is because Edward has always dictated to him what to play. Mikey has always had a good tone, and I think he can probably play better than most give him credit for.

Couldn't vote on this one, as none of the three available options were appropriate to how I feel, which is that I wouldn't want Mike to join DLR, because even if he is a great backing vocalist, that's not much of a qualification to be Dave's bass player.
In that area, Mike's obviously not shit, but the word "workmanlike" tends to spring to mind when I think of his playing. Not a great recommendation. And even if Eddie has somehow been stopping him from showing off some (hypothetical) great bass-chops that he's kept hidden away, why would you want someone who, in that case, has been the musical equivalent of pussy-whipped for more than twenty years of his career?
The whole "having his tongue lodged so far up Sammy's crack it'd take surgery to remove it" thing is also a bit of a negative.
Frankly, Dave can, and has, done better.

I agree....and I still say that if Mikey were to stop being a jellyfish toward the VH Bros., but were to be humble with Dave, that would be the best. Having Mikey with the VH Bros. made the illusion appear to make Dave look like the bad guy. This way it would be a 50/50 even split. I'd welcome the 'half assed reunion' 'cause I just think it would be great to at least see those two together again. Mikey may not be the best, but he is underrated, a great background/melody vocalist and I think Dave would be appreciating him more than the VH Bros. do nowadays.Originally posted by Brownsound1
