............do you EVER hear Van Hagar tunes on the rock stations with any regularity? Yes we all know radio sucks nowadays, and when in the car I listen to CD's 90 percent of the time. Every one of the six pack is represented on rock radio here in the Bay Area.........even Diver Down gets 2-3 tracks played. I almost NEVER hear Van Hagar........unfortunately they do play a fair amount of solo Sammy. In fact when they recently did a "Live at 5" thing, it was a fucking cover from RHRN....not even an original piece of shit Van Hagar tune. What a legendary band Van Hagar is..........especially when they promote the new abortion, then follow it with "And the cradle will rock..." "Yeah Sammy and the boys will be rockin' it tonight at the HP Pavilion.........here's Runnin' with the Devil......"
Be honest...........

WEBN plays nothin BUT Classic Halen, and they rip the fuck out of any Spam Halen tune that gets requested before letting it spin.
WTUE, which is a Dayton, Ohio station is Bi when it comes to Halen...They are suck ass's in the biggest way.
but they play the coolest NON-Halen classics ever recorded the rest of the time.
Spam Halen has no legacy in this state, fellow and fellowette soldiers.Comment

It's weird, no one seems to give a fuck around here about Van Hagar, but a lot of people seem to love his solo garbage(Spammy). That said his last few times here solo he could hardly fill 500 seaters.Comment

I'm not gonna waste precious seconds of my life checking but I doubt either of their 2 Bay Area shows will sell out.Comment

Word?
I used to respect Montrose cos of their ties with Templeman, early VH and the influence that the first record brought to the table at WB. I never really dug it though. However, I fucking loathe Alex Van Halen at this point and he played drums on the six pack?
Hagar and Alex have padded their collective wallets by completely destroying the Halen Legacy. Eddie is helpless. I'm just going by his quotes but from what it seems, he tried to bring Dave back and "I actually love the guy" (Dave) "He hooked me up with a cancer specialist in Houston." Yet, Alex shot it down BOTH times. Then Dave saying at the R&R HOF that he will only refer to AVH as "The Drummer?" Now you read Ed saying "Alex IS Van Halen." He obviously is in control cos Ed is too drunk and it only took a dinner with Spam to recindle the badblood and unobedient Hagar. You tell me bro?

Hi all,
I am obviously late into this conflab but would like to say I loathe the Van Hagar shit, will never buy the so called greatest hits or anything until the Diamond is back in the groove.
As for Sam, I liked the Montrose stuff, although I prefered Ronnie's later band, Gamma. SH solo stuff, I have a lot on vinyl but particularly liked marching to mars.
The Diamond geezer is undoubtedly the man, awesome is just not superlative enough! Van Hagar suck now, but not as bad as when they brought in the prick on VH III: I thought that shit was appalling!Comment

I live about 45 minutes from DETROIT and about the same from TOLEDO, OHIO. I get 101.1FMWRIF and the TOLEDO station 104.7, both rock stations that have been on the air 30+ years. They know rock and FUCKING roll. NEITHER station plays the dreaded Van Hagar often, maybe 5-10% of the time. It didn't increase for more than 3 days around the time the SHAM HALEN 2004 tour rolled through town. It very apparent that people of both the great states of MICHIGAN & OHIO know full well that DAVID LEE ROTH IS VAN HALEN!!!!Comment

The Rock stations in this neck of the woods are pro DLR, very little Van Hagar is played. The dj's knocked the shit out of It's About Time. They just came right out on live radio and said it sucks, bring back DLR. I would have to agree with Max. Alex and Mike are really stuck up Hagar's ass, and Ed is just a shell of what he once was. So his input in the bands future is minimum at best. If you notice, Spam and Alice are doing all the promotional interviews, and Ed is just hiding in the shadows. This band doesn't have leadership. An interview with the late Lawrence Welk would be more interesting than listening to these to Boners. Roth was the voice and leader of this band. Watch the Early Years DVD, Alex clearly admits they got Roth because he had charisma. Ed, AL and Mike handled the music and Roth entertained the crowd. It was the perfect combination. They don't have this with Hagar.Comment
