It is with great sadness that I must step down from

my position as a Sheep Pen administrator.

A close member of my family has become quite ill and

is in hospital quite a distance from here. Long commutes several days

per week will prevent me from performing my duties as PEN

biographer.

I would like to stress that this really has nothing to do with

the crap going down right now BUT, I would also like to remind

everyone that when Rikk and I came up with this it was supposed

to be fun. To date all of the inductees have kicked and struggled

but also laughed with and at us. Some people though, well

they just don't get it and have to turn it into something else.

It is stressful dealing with a family crises. I used to be able to

turn to the PEN for a laugh, not recently though. Shame really.

As for the other issue, absolutely. There are a few that don't get the joke and want to turn it all into a giant personal tirade. The PEN, I truly feel, is necessary. It's a fun way to acknowledge the trouble-making sheep that attack this site. We are not the Links. We don't have a banning system. So we do something much more harmless and more tongue-in-cheek like this. And it works well and provides a lot of laughs for a lot of posters. Yes, it gets ugly once in a while. And there are a few posters who really are filled with hatred. But they are in the minority. They truly are. Posters like cockvanhalen69 and POOP BOY are always referred to in here. But I think they've even come to enjoy the notoriety, and I actually have no problems with those guys. Half of the time we're laughing with them.

We will never let the Pen become a place of hatred, power or just plain ugliness. The people we throw in don't always like it...that's also part of the point. The last few weeks have had some ugly incidents, but that at its core has really had NOTHING to do with the Pen

This is a silly little thread, but it's been a lot of fun and rid us of a lot of sheep. I knew GUWAPO's heart wasn't into it for a while, so having LOU join has been great. Lou is hilarious and dedicated to ridding us of our SHEEP population.

I want to thank our current administrators (Lou, Max, Bill) for their solid help in keeping the Pen alive and funny. And I want to also thank Guwapo for all his hard work.
