Does mention of the number "5150" stir up negative emotions

Even when I see "5150" in someone's username, nothing but BAD connotations come from it. Because how can you associate it with anything but the demise of Van Halen, the birth of Van Hagar, sellout tunes, and Ed's ego?

Yeah I know 1984 was recorded in stupid-ass 5150 studios. And guess what, as much as I love classic VH the demise was already starting to take place on that album with Eddie's love of synthesizers.

Anyway, I hate mention of 5150. It's not funny, it's not cute no matter how you try to work it in a pun. 5150=suckiness. Classic Van Halen has no business being associated with 5150--the song, the album, or the studio.

5150 USED to be the police code for criminally insane, but now it's the code for mediocre power ballads with NEGATIVE charisma, and a loosening of my bowels.

Yeah I know it came from that. But now it simply is a synonym for the Van Hagar era and eradication of classic Van Halen.

Is there anything gayer than "It's 5150 time!!!!!!!!!!"?

Actually yeah, there is: "Helloooooooooo Baaaaaaby!" Which by the way Hagar's opened up every concert with. If I heard that in person I'd fuckin' get sick and vomit right then and there.

5150 will always for me stand for 2nd choice, as was Hagar. It will never be great, it will always be mediocre.

Whenever I hear "It's 5150 time!" I think of rockvanhalen66 and his similarly brain-addled pals donning their official tin 'Loser' helmets and running head-first straight into one another.

As funny as that is, it has to be said that on the whole, it's definitely still a negative.

The "fifty one" part always seemed like a defining point of interest to me.

Ya know, the "1%'rs"......the small demographic represented.

I'm not referring to motorcycle clubs. That's "stand alone" 1% type
                  shit.

In some dumb-ass way, the term "5150" transcended logic, algebra,
                  and tic-tac-toe.

                  "What'd you say? fiftyonefifty? It's fifty-fucking-fifty motherfucker....
                  look at the pie chart."

Then you give up and call a short bus for the 1%'rs.

I've said it before but I will repeat it for those who missed it, when I hear 5150, I envision a group of sammy fans gathering in a circle while two put buckets on their heads and try to crash into one another. The first one to fall down has to jack the other off. So in answer to the thread title, yes, it does bring up negetive emotions.
So sayeth the shepherd. so fook the flock!
