    Damn Good Your Take

Okay. I think its a pretty well song. Do you all think it was about back in the day in the early VH before they hit it big and during all their good times?

Dave says its not. He says its about another group of friends. But, it does sound that way. I love the song and can not understand why it didn't make "The Best"

I think we can all identify with this song in our own lives, which is why I dig it.

"Damn Good" IS DAMN GOOD! He SHOULD add it to his setlist. It's one of my top 5 favorite David Lee Roth-related songs.

Damn Good is definitely one of the best tracks on that album.

I think it's about VH, at least a bit, for sure.

I love DAMN GOOD. I think, for sure, he knew people would interpret the lyrics as being about VH. And knowing Dave, the lyrics were probably a bit contrived because he knew the fans would get a big kick out of it. While he was singing this, the band were badmouthing him right, left and center still. Talk about fucking insecurity.

dlr band doesnt sit well with me...slam dunk is just another double bass sorta song...just like hot for teacher, im the one, its showtime..and the list goes on...

blacklight is a cheezy ledzep style song..and i cant get into the rest.
i think the diamond dave cover album is great and it has thug pop on that. i love that even though the guitar opening hook reminds me of led zep's "trampled under foot"

Damn Good is the best song on Skyscraper IMO.

Should have made it on to Dave's Best of CD.

Can't think why it didn't get on there to be honest with you.

I never got the impression Damn Good was about VH. I always thought it was about him as a kid just growing up and hanging out with his friends. Then stardom hit and took all of that innocence and simplicity away. I think the song is about him looking back on that and not realizing what he had at the time. The song has a sense of reflective sadness to it.

I love it today just as much as I did the first time I heard it 25 years ago! It's a very well written song and it's got such a great feel.
