Believe it or not, I'd rather see Meatchicken improve than turn into Western Michigan. It makes the rivalry a little more exciting in Nov., and improves the level of competition in the Big 10. How long until Richrod gets the hook? How many more losses to tOSU is it going to take? I have a feeling we'll find out sooner than later.

Well, I think this season has certainly bought him...I'll guess...two more years to ride out his recruits. He'll get one recruiting cycle.

Now...if he rips an tOSU upset, that's another year...

a bowl game on top of it...a new deal.

a big ten title on top of that...perhaps a monument.

It's not like he's got his back to the wall for recent Michigan successes...

I'll tell you...if he didn't start of the way he did this year, I'd have to believe that he would have just made it through the end of the year.

It will be interesting to see what happens as they roll through the big 10. If they aren't successful...and get bombed by tOSU...in Michigan...

    Who knows.

RichRod is a douche...and if Michigan figures that out...he may be coaching some toothless kids in the Appalachian Mts. by 2010...

That psycho fuck Les Miles publicly stiffed them -Jethro Rodriguez was the best they could do.

If by coaching toothless kids in the Appalachian hills you mean he'll be back in WV, I'm not sure they want him back....unless it's to be hanged

an uninspired half for the Buckeyes offense. but they get a late TD from Pryor to Posey to lead 14-10.

need to see more consistency from Pryor. Wisconsin is daring him to throw the ball.

I am beginning to think this is the best Ohio State team over the past several years, and that includes a QB who is gifted...but really hasn't figured it out yet.

It's not because of seniors...although there is a good mix...

but Chekwa, Gibson, Heyward, Homan and Rolle...

It's these fucking underclassmen both defensively...and offensively...

    Good win...

I wonder who passes them this week...fucking idiots...

I guarantee LSU, even if they lose by 3 TD's today, won't fall past the OSU "bookmark".

I agree with you, poj, about this team, though. Pryor is the only thing that concerns me, but even when he looks bad, he's still got enough talent to turn around and make a big play for you.

I still worry about passivity as well. Tressel falls into the old school prevent with a lead...and it's a concern. Against top 25 teams, he falls into his field position games. Combine that with QB still learning the ropes, and you have trouble come bowl time. tOSU has that tough stretch as well...at Penn State, at home against Iowa, and at Michigan. They SHOULD win all three, but this team has a history of let downs. Will they be looking ahead or behind in any of these games?

And finally, the 2012/2013 schedule...again with two Ohio teams back to back...

    including...the bearcubs...

I'm guessing the Cal game is their new home and home series, because I'm fairly certain that tOSU wouldn't play a game with Cincy...in Cincy...

    Of course...maybe Cleveland...

I don't mind the in-state games, it's good to keep the revenue in the state system, but I don't want to see any games against Eastern Michigan and Marshall.

schedule one more game against a BCS conference team, even if it's a lower-tier school. play Vandy or Rutgers or Maryland, instead of a MAC school. and NO I-AA schools (I refuse to use this FCS and FBS crap)

    That's always Tressel's intent...

    To schedule a USC/Notre Dame/Nebraska/Miami (Fl)...

I think the Miami home and home couldn't happen...so they agreed to it the following year...which left a one-year gap for a big time opponent. Finding a one-year gap with a major program was probably too late...

I think there were other issues there as well...

I get the general intent, and I think it's GREAT that the Bucks regularly attempt to schedule another elite program, yearly if possible. very few other schools schedule like that. but I wish all 3 other games didn't have to be cupcakes.

now, in '12, where they've got Cal and Cinci, that's not bad. but I wouldn't call either school elite; they tend to be up and down. it would've been great this year, as both spent time in the top 10. but three yrs from now, they could both be mediocre again.

I know why he feels he has to schedule this way. Look what happened to Oklahoma this year when they scheduled multiple tough non-conference games. of course, that's why I favor a playoff where the conference champions where guaranteed a spot. no penalty for scheduling tough games in the non-conference.

It would be in PBS like it was in '02, and scarlet and gray would be the dominant colors.

    Hello, everyone.
I wouldn't call it dominated, HLM. sure, some of the statistics like yardage and time of possession are going to get skewed when one team doesn't have the ball for a whole quarter, through no fault of their own.

the overall stats were so skewed because Wisconsin didn't require Ohio St's offense to even get on the field for 3 whole drives. OSU edged Wisconsin in yards per play 4.6 to 4.1. Wisconsin ran more than twice as many offensive plays, but it wasn't because they were dominating anything.

but if it makes you feel better, go ahead and say your Badgers dominated a game that they lost 31-13.

    Hello, everyone.
Wisconsin did a good job moving the ball. Clay is a good back. It's those missed opportunities like dropping sure TD passes in the end zone and lousy special teams play that killed any chance they might have had.

I know the Buckeyes won the game, but they won it with great defense and a bad-ass kickoff return.

Pryor? He makes me nervous. With the exception of a few good plays, he looked like Akili Smith out there....totally lost. What was with that out of bounds flip-pass to nobody to avoid a sack?

What worries me is that future opponents are drawing a bead on TP's option reads. Take those away and he's on his own-I don't see him hanging back and picking defenses apart, I see him making bad decisions....I mean more bad decisions. I can tell he hasn't got it figured out yet. But when he DOES, look out! It's going to be great.

The hyped-up Wisconsin O line was put to the test, and they failed miserably.

Saine had what I thought was a TD run until he was caught from behind.

    From behind.

I can't wait to see that Beanie clone from Indiana in the backfield next year.

9-7 Purdue at the half. horrible half by the OSU offense and coaches.

bad call on the non-fumble strip at the end of the first qtr. should've been Buckeye ball deep in Purdue territory.

then, TD to make it 14-6 is called back and Pryor immediately fumbles it away again.

Tress then blows it by throwing on 2nd and long at our own 17 with 45 seconds to play, allowing Purdue to stop the clock on 3rd and get the ball back. that cost 3 pts.

Pryor should be benched for the 2nd half.

It finally bit them in the ass...against 1-5 Purdue, no less.

Pryor flat out lost that game today. I also thought Tressel shouldn't have settled for that FG early in the 4th. they could've been only down 3 on that last drive..

    fuckin' pathetic.

Great win for my other favorite College team today, though I am disappointed that my other team (Ohio State) lost.

Actually, my son got an introductory letter from Purdue for baseball a couple of weeks ago, which was pretty cool....

Highly doubtful he'd got to college in Indiana, but cool nonetheless...
