Rose Bowl.
Rose Bowl.
Richrod should be on suicide watch.
I agree...but if I was forced to run that offense...I'd feel the same way.
It's fucking embarrassing to be that fucking safe...nearly cost them the game.
Thing is...that works against the Big 10...but not the fucking teams that count.
Fuck it...going to the Rose Bowl...sobeit...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."
I don't think it does anyone any good, other than fixing injuries. We'll have our kicker back, and all the nicks will be fixed. Other than that, I can't figure out what the fucking Big Ten is doing. I get it, they don't want a championship game...fine. But, do they have to get schooled by the Pac 10? The schedule-makers of the PAC 10 finally got it right. They don't have a championship, but have scheduled games on both the 28th and the 5th of December. I'm not sure if they have 2 byes per team, but it makes much more
sense than the antiquated Big Ten schedule.
they decided to slide back a year or two ago. it takes effect next season. the OSU-UM game will be the Sat AFTER thanksgiving.
Tress must've been steaming after that KO return, and fuckin' Shank Thoma. Tressellball breaks down in a hurry if you don't win the kicking game. it prevailed in the end, but would not have been that close, otherwise. Bucks were headed to a two-score win.
I have to wonder what TP did to his hand. they were showing him shaking his throwing hand on the sideline at one point. did that factor in to the playcalling a bit?
the second-guessers are jumping on Ferentz today (since his side lost), for going too conservative in the last 55 seconds. but I don't blame him, the freshman QB (despite having a very good game for his first start) effectively threw two game-losing picks during that game-tying drive that he got rescued on (one on the penalty negating the TD, the second on that crazy tipped ball reception)
at the end of the day, all I know is we're going to the Rose Bowl. if you had offered that to me at the start of the year, I take it.
losing the two games the way they were lost stings a bit, as it's easy to say the Bucks should be undefeated. but, shit, that would just be more frustrating, because Texas isn't going to lose and tOSU would have just been left out anyway.

The Buckeyes did much better than I expected this season. However, the loss to Purdoo was not anticipated.
Nonetheless, they have a great defense, and a sporadic offense, which IMO keeps them out of the NC picture justifiably. Still a good Buckeye squad with tons of potential coming in to next season.
And with a convincing Rose Bowl victory, will launch them up in the polls next year. Take care of business against the U at the Shoe, and they're off and running.
I hope Young Ironhead stays another year.
Muck fichigan!!
go bucks!
6 in a row!!! Go Buckeyes!!
The best news of all?
RichFraud is staying...
...although beating Harbaugh would be sweet as well.
If I were Michisuck...I'd be calling Harbaugh daily...
6 in a row.
8-1 under Tress. I can't criticize the guy at all.
I fucking love it.
Oh, I can criticize the guy...
but not about handing the WolverQueens their ass...and getting into BCS games...and winning a national title they shouldn't have won...
Now it's time to take the next step...
They need to reclaim a national slot...and overcome the hole they've dug themselves for the national title debacles...
TP hasn't developed the way the #1 QB in the universe should have by late in his Sophomore year...I'm kinda worried about the future of this offense. I really think he's handcuffing Tress rather than the other way around.
Posey looks sharp. He'd look even sharper with the ball...if Pryor could ever get it to him on a regular basis.
The winner of the Ducks / Beavers game goes to the Rose Bowl.
That's "the team that lost to Boise St". or "the team that lost at home to UC".
That's how I see it.
Well...I guess I'd prefer Oregon St. to win...
a battle of OSU's...or some shit...
Maybe the winner can trounce Okie St.
I'm happy to see Oregon in the Rose Bowl. I'd rather play the higher profile opponent. Oregon has clearly been the #2 team in the Pac10 for the past decade.
should be a good matchup of #7 vs. #8.
Evan Turner, who had been probably been the best player in the country over the first month, broke two vertebrae last night. check out the highlight if you haven't seen it. pretty painful to watch.
he's slated to be out for 8 weeks. I can't believe it's that quick. if he stays on schedule, that's mid-February. hopefully, the Bucks can at least stay on the right side of the bubble between now and then.
They are good, even without Turner...although I agree, if there was anyone playing better than Turner this year, I'd like to know his name. Wall and Singler, perhaps, are his only peers this season...
Too bad...Lighty, their defensive specialist, can play some offense and bring up the ball like Turner...
It should be an interesting season...
I wonder if this will make him stay for his senior season, or go pro to avoid another serious injury.
They should all look at Oden.
He came out too early (even though he was 48 at the time).
The guy can't stay healthy. A few years of college conditioning might help?
Yeah...that...and he shouldn't be 48...
You guys think they can beat the Ducks?? these dorks walk around
here in the west with those absolutely dumb green shirts..all proud too
they are as geeky as the Idaho boise state retards too..
I just wanna see them beat the PAC 10 & shut fucking sheep Colin Cowherds
monkey ass big mouth USC loving deuschbag-
hes such a big 10 hater, id love to call in afterwards & layeth the smack
1 fucking time.
GO BUCKS!
OH
IO!
Duron Carter will not play in the Rose Bowl-academic ineligibility.
His old man should kick his ass..
Cris? Kick his ass?
You mean the same bitch that secretly signed with agent Norby Walters after his junior season...and was kicked off the team?
Christ...Dad is probably saying "Well done son."
Cris Carter was an outstanding receiver...but you want to talk about immature...
looks like it rubbed off on his kid...
HA!
I said should.
I'm not familiar with Chris' carreer while playing for tOSU, I was out of the country at the time. But I know for a fact he was no angel in high school.
Anyways, after the Eagles cut him loose, didn't he turn into a holy man or some shit?
Yes...
...and holy adviser to Randy Moss...
don't need Duron for this game anyway. the way the Bucks win this game is by pounding it out on the ground against the Ducks run D. and keep their O off the field.
Even if they were throwing the ball...there's a ton of talent at receiver. Duron Carter is a solid player...but he'll never be a #1...never...
and if he is...he's either worked harder than everyone else (which he's proven is doubtful), or tOSU have gotten roasted in the recruiting game (not likely).
Ray Small...out...
Rob Rose...out...
Two fucking seniors...
apparently they violated Team Rules...
You know...I'm not really all that worried about the receivers being out...
Let's face facts...
Posey and Sanzenbacher are the starters...
Taurian Washington has show flashes of brilliance this year...and may have been held back a bit by Carter's development...
I like Lamaar Thomas overall better than Small...and now I won't have to hold my breath every punt...although we'll miss the potential game-break of Small..
Rose is a small part of the rotation...
You know...this is going to sound stupid, but this may make us more focused, and flat out better...
fuck them all...
yeah, I could live without seeing Small muff another punt.
six days...
There's something magical about winning the Rose Bowl that supersedes everything else...
to the point that Colt McCoy said, "We're going to the Rose Bowl," and I got pissed off...
lol...playing at the Rose Bowl...and going to the Rose bowl are a different thing altogether...yeah...ones for the national title...and one's not...
Pryor said he has had a partially torn PCL for a good bit of the season...
I'll take "what happens to QB's that run a lot" for $500.
The Oregon Fucks are heavily favored.
Beating the 2 teams tOSU lost to this year will do that, I guess, but I also remember what happened to another "high powered offense" called Penn State.
Heyward will molest Magilicutty, or Mussolini, or whatever the fuck that Oregon QB's name is. I pray that this will happen. For 4 quarters.
the challenge is for the defense to keep up with the pace. it will be critical that the Bucks substitute well. they often won't get a chance...
if the Bucks can run the ball well and sustain long drives, and the defense can get a few early 3-and-outs, it could be a long day for the Ducks. don't want to get into a track meet.
I think the defense can keep up with the pace.
The key is the front seven...if they get after Masoli, they can win this game. Oregon's offense is better than tOSU's...let's get that over with right now. Here's the thing...the weakest part of the offensive is the line...which is good, but not great. If Worthington, Denlinger, Heyward and Gibson can get after him all day long (and they very well could), it could make or break the game. Can the Ducks running game...with all those legs...wear down that D? I don't think so.
tOSU's offense can't be predictable either. I concur...they need to be able to run the ball, but I'm fairly sure Oregon's going to stack the box...so Tressel has to open it up...
It's simple...if you roll Pryor out most of the time, and let him run when nothing is open, I think they'll destroy that defense. If the stay traditional...it could be a long day.
It's going to be a good game...but...
Ohio State--33
Oregon--14
blowout...
hope you're right, chief.
If it comes down to the Ohio State offense vs. the Oregon defense...
tOSU will win this big...
If somehow...the Oregon offense can move the ball consistently...then the game will be close...
If it's a blowout...then Tressel can't coach talent...because talent-wise, Oregon can't touch Ohio State...
