"If the American people had ever known the truth about what we (the BCE) have done to this nation, we would be chased down in the streets and lynched." - Poppy Bush, 1992
We both lie silently still in the
dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
we feel miles apart, inside
Was it somethin' I said or somethin' I did
Did my words not come out right
Tho' I tried not to hurt you
Tho' I tried
But I guess that's why they say
CHORUS:
Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Just like every night has it's dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every Roes Has It's Thorn
I listen to our favorite song
playing on the radio
Hear the DJ say love's a game of
easy come and easy go
But I wonder does he know
Has he ever felt like this
And I know that you'd be here right now
if I could have let you known somehow, I guess
CHORUS
Though it's been a while now
I still feel so much pain
Like a knife that cuts you
the wound heals, but the scar, that scar remains
SOLO
I know I could have saved our love that night
If I'd known what to say
Instead of making love
we both made our seprate ways
Now I hear you found somebody new
and that I never meant that much to you
To hear that tears me up inside
And to see you cuts me like a knife

True to a certain extent about Poison.
However, I always thought Poison looked at the poppy gay stuff KISS did instead of looking at their harder edged, first three albums, stuff to get inspired.
the problem is that van hagar did not influence anybody but were influenced vice versa by mediocre bands and their music and became bon jovi'sh or journey-like mainstream...even the clothing...with dave they INVENTED things and set standards...with hagar they copied the looks of WHAM! and looked like a bunch of childish fags...

I hear you buddy!
When Roth left, the life just went out of the band.
The humour went as well.
Plus the style.
But the the songs..............WTF happened to Eddie?
Everything sucked big time! Songs / Solos the lot!
I really belive Dave was MORE that just a singer.
Without his guidance stage shows / lighting/ image they were just plain lost.
all i remember Van Hagar saying was "It's all about the music now"

"Altar Bridge"
I haven't heard any of their Stapp-less music, so I don't know if it sucks more or less or the same. But the name would imply that their pseudo-religious gimmick is still there.
