Van Halen jumps up to #3 on Pollstar.com
I saw this ignorant tool General Hina’s post, and the huge number of member reply posts on this subject, so I wanted to present the true facts in this matter.
Please, everybody quit busting a gut on this PollStar report and what Hina and other transtestical’s like “it” posts. Nobody knowledge in the music industry, looks at, or recognizes, Pollstar’s Power Index rankings. There worthless! A fifth grader could manipulate the hell out of those numbers, much less someone as powerful as CCC & WMG. Further, trust me CCC IS CLEARLY manipulating the hell out of this ignorant power ranking report using the oldest promoter tricks in the book.
I know for an iron-clad fact, suck Hagar’s cock if I am wrong on the internet for everyone to see, that this VH Tour is in big trouble and CCC is on the ropes, trying everything they can to salvage this deal. I have posted other matters reflecting how this VH Tour is in trouble, and I’m not a Sammy hater or really want to see this Tour fail. The latest VH tickets “auction sale trick” that appeared out of thin air yesterday on Ticketbastard (and disappeared late today?!) was just another fine example of very serious sales problems with this VH Tour.
Bottom line here is nobody thought that Eddie would not “shape up” and “kick in” for this Tour. I didn’t either, the guy has always been such a driving musical force and a perfectionist, to a fault many times. Frankly, if I didn’t like Roth, I wouldn’t care if Meatloaf was fronting this VH Tour, as long as I got to see Eddie blister the stage. But in watching a full private video of Tuesday’s nights VH Dress Rehearsal, EVH is a disappointing musical and emotional mess! Not saying he didn’t have a few good moments and a few cool “showcase riffs”, but the rest of it was rough to put it mildly. I was elated, however, to finally get to see Wolfgang on stage in the video, even though he is only 13. But deep down, I got very pissed that Eddie was pimping his son “for a buck”, because he had let himself become a washed up hack.
I guess people can only hope that when Eddie gets out on the road, and sees that millions of people still care about him (and I am still one of them) he will “kick in”, but I’m not holding my breath here. Usually when addicts get as bad as Eddie, long-term rehab is the only answer, short of a grave.
I also learned late this afternoon, exactly what is going on with all these new VH Tour dates being scheduled, yet CCC is getting killed by lack of adequate ticket sales volume on existing scheduled VH play dates - except select A+ venue markets. We all know that VH is performing effectively “fixed fee” venues for this Tour, so they could care less about ticket sales volumes. The more shows they play, the more money they make. However, CCC makes the decisions to book additional VH venue dates, NOT VH Management. So obviously, the question is what the hell are they thinking?
Apparently, CCC’s thinking is that by opening additional VH play dates, many in secondary venue markets, they can keep the alive the hype/fan excitement/”all is well with the Tour look”/and rigged VH poll rankings, like in PollStar, etc. They are hoping this “business strategy” will assist in “backfilling” lagging sales in major key market venues, that are extremely expensive to promote, and can generate significant single venue losses for CCC . If this sales “backfill” strategy works, then CCC will cancel some secondary market VH concerts. If the backfill doesn’t occur, they will cancel numerous secondary markets, and second night, VH concerts to rebalance their promote book.
Hope this information was of value to serious forum members…….
