it wasn't about him, it was about the music and the band. from day one he promoted that band to the fullest extent, putting himself in the background so VAN HALEN could break out. also, dave pointed eddie in the direction he needed to go. without dave, eddie would be sitting there fucking noodling around on his guitar all day and make everyone lose interest.

things were only "working out" with sammy because he jumped on at the height of the bands popularity. each album after 5150 sold worse than its predecessor, how is that working out better?
