How loud is it going to be for those geeks. I can see some crying its to loud. Crank it up. And blast away.
Dan you flying in for this? To bad that new york trip was early last year.
has Dave been on his show ?? Maybe Dave has told him no & he kisses Sams ass to piss him off. Wouldn't suprise me. I think that show is ok. Dave should do it if he never has. At least the guy tries to keep rock in the forefront in the shitty fucking rap techno world of fucking garbage !!
Nothin' wrong with being friends with rockers ---- but Trunk needs to grow a pair and start asking some tough questions if he wants any respect as an interviewer ---- I would go much easier on him if he called out Hagarita about his blatant bullshit like ---- "I was as popular as Van Halen in 1984" or "Van Hagar sold more albums than Roth-era VH".
The only artist bigger than Van Halen in 1984 was Michael Jackson, and anyone alive during that time knows that. Eddie Trunk was alive during that time, so he seems quite cowardly to allow Sammy's word barf to propagate unchallenged.
Trunk has taken subtle stabs at Dave and Eddie for never appearing on "That Metal Show" or his NYC radio program.
But so what? Just because Dave and Ed wont be your drinking buddies doesn't mean you plant Sammy's nutsack on your chin as revenge. What kind of weirdo does that?
I miss the old days when real interviewers like Jim Ladd or Lisa Robinson could establish a good rapport with Dave ---- but still ask tough questions and don't settle for bullshit.
What ever happened to Ladd ?
and very unceremoniously at that. They fired him & didn't even allow a farewell show. The local AM talk radio/politics station gave him a 4 hour timeslot to have a farewell show. AM station that has Rush Limbaugh & such. Very fucking cool of that station to do this for a Los Angeles legend.
LONG LIVE FREE FORM RADIO!
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
Can't say I'm too surprised at that ---- there's consequences when Clear Channel controls 90% of all the terrestrial radio stations in the U.S.
In a few years, the only radio stations remaining will be on satellite or the Interwebs ---- CHANGE, AINT NOTHIN' STAYS THE SAME.
I heard Dave's final day at his CBS radio show was a huge "FUCK YOU" to the brass who fucked him over in favor of Opie and Anthony.
Speaking of radio dickheads ---- is Howard Stern gonna have VH on his show while they are in NYC ?? Stern and Dave had a falling out ever since that failed CBS stint.
Anyone hear how Al Roker caused a stink against Ed and Al on their flight out to NY? I heard this from a friend who was on the flight, but I dont trust her slutty ass.
Roker did the Rose Parade broadcast for NBC, so it's at least plausible that they were on the same flight.
Rock duo can’t move Roker
Last Updated: 12:44 AM, January 4, 2012
Al Roker nearly “pulled apushy n Alec Baldwin” on an American Airlines flight when he refused to give up his aisle seat for rocker Alex Van Halen and his wife, Stine Schyberg, and remained glued to his phone after the gate closed to tune out the couple’s protests.
After hosting the Rose Bowl in LA on Monday, the campy “Today” meteorologist avoided a fiery confrontation on AA flight No. 4 to New York when his first-class companions, the Van Halen co-founder and his wife, bitterly complained to the gate agent that Roker was sitting between them as the plane sat on the ground.

Witnesses said Alex was seated by the right- side window, his wife in the center of the cabin, with Roker in the aisle seat between them. Alex’s brother and Van Halen co-founder Eddie and his wife, Janie Liszewski, were seated in the row behind them.
“Alex complained, ‘We’re not together, Mr. Roker’s seat is between ours,” a spy said. “Al was looking at his phone, desperately trying to ignore the whole situation.”
When the agent asked Roker to move to the aisle seat in the first-row center, he stated that he’s “allergic to dogs,” a source tells us. A passenger with a little dog in a crate was in the row behind Roker, and moving to the aisle would have put him three seats away, rather than four.
To sit together, Alex and Stine then swapped with passengers in business class, our spy said, adding that a relieved Al “said ‘Hello’ to the new people when they sat down, after hiding from the Van Halens by texting.”
Roker, who then turned his phone off, seemed to have better etiquette than “30 Rock” star Baldwin, who was bounced from a flight last month for unleashing his rage on a flight attendant who asked him to put his phone away.
While the situation was uncomfortable, “There was literally not an ounce of rock star bullbleep,” a spy said of Alex, “But his wife was making a big deal complaining about it.”
A rep for Van Halen told us the band “couldn’t be reached.” NBC declined to comment.

i dunno, Roker worked here early in his career before he went to NYC. when he was on Stern a couple years ago he seemed okay and only ducked a few questions.
and then i read the post above mine...yeah, kinda douchey move there.

I wouldn't move either if someone is being prima donna about it. It's not like they're newlyweds and can't sit apart for 4 hrs.
It's just common courtesy, dude. I'm on flights at least twice a month because of my job, and since I usually travel alone, I'll often volunteer to swap my seat in order to accommodate a couple, or family who are not seated together.
Sorry man, but Al Roker was being a dick - the fact that he was apparently pretending to ignore what was going on around him while playing with his phone shows he couldn't even face Alex and his future ex-wife - kind of cowardly if you ask me.
I agree Roker sounds rather douchey in this whole incident ---- but I'm starting to feel very bad for Dave as he deals with Al's wife on this world tour!
Hopefully, the Big Reverend will do the manly thing and keep her locked up in the L.A. mansion with a pile of credit cards to burn through.
Isn't this Alex's 4th wife? The guy gets a solid "F" when it comes to his personal life. Let's hope Uncle Dave can teach Wolfie how to have the right perspective on women.

There's a separate post on the Roker dickish stunt, continue Roker talk in there....
Eat Us And Smile - The Originals
"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth
"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth
Back to the Cafe Wha? gig.....I know a journalist who writes for a paper here in NJ and he was asked to attend the show. Lucky bastard! I did ask if he needed an assistant. haha....
It's going to be interesting to see just how much video is leaked, or if some "official" snippets will be released....
Twitter should be busy during the show, just gotta find the Tweets....
I'll retweet what I can....
I'd have to assume that given this is a by invitation press event... there will be official and authorized media releases all over the map tomorrow.
Any indication what time this event is scheduled for?
"If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”
Trunk said 8pm ET....
Ha. I was just going to ask if anybody knew what time the EVENT started ... Is anybody planning on hanging out outside the club? I work in NYC, so I'm thinking it might be cool to try to hear the new music.
