I have listened to Satch in the past.
I don't know why but instrumental lead guitar.. seems to me to need a big band and some brass in there like Tommy Dorsey or with Doris Day up there filling in around the needed parts.

Or Rick Braun or some brass soloist ...ya know..?

I can't get my head around a heavy metal band without the addition of a lead singer. Or like I used to llisten to alot of Chic Corea and that ilk..etc.. but lead guitar instrumental doesn't flip my trigger mixed with big rock back up

I have some Secret Garden that I play when chilling.

Satriani is supurb and I have always know that if I palyed guitar I would get it more, perhaps ...No harsh at all on, Satch...

I can almost promise you it is my tin ear that holds me back from relating to this style of music.

To me Satch and Mahlmsteen (sp) these guys are destined to inspire others who wish to become or learn the intracasies(sp) of music...and they do .I can't stress my non- harsh on the individual tastes involved.

But Chad Smith is one of my favorite drummers still alive and kicking it....some people probably think he sucks.

Some people probably pay to see Cluck Shoe it's a crazy world ...

Anyway, that song is "Soap on a Rope" or some stupid title like that. I checked it out as it appears to be one of their "hits." Satriani was absolutely shredding in it but it's a lowest common denominator rock song otherwise. I would think that Satch's fanbase is probably not happy about him wasting time in Chickenfoot and is dying for him to do another solo tour.
Good to see you around Lou............

agreed....Satch is slumming....I think the general consensus is that they actually thought they'd be the 2nd coming of van haggis.....appeal to those ageing soccer Mom's......not realizing they've all tuned into IDOL & nolonger pay attention to even SHITTY music............

I seriously wouldn't know that they were touring, or who was in the band besides Hagar and Anthony, if not for this site. They are completely irrelevant to anything, and they're not making music that pushes any boundaries. They're simply selling a product to middle aged people who like watered down, "safe" rock music. But they're not even good at doing that. The only people showing up to their concerts are absolute die-hard Hagar and Satch fans. And it's not like Satch, despite his prodigious talent, ever sold out arenas in the first place.

I'm not surprised in the least bit that they got 500 people for that Atlantic City show they just did. I'm trying to think, who made their name in a famous band, and can also personally continue to get people to pack arenas no matter if he's solo or in a new band? Roger Waters and David Gilmour when they do solo tours every couple years? That's all I can think of.

There was that one Satch album in the early 90's that he sang a few songs on. I liked it. I had a KNAC badge ( actually my talented friend had one and he made me a fake) at that time to see him at The Whiskey. Awesome show with only invited guests and me.

That and the Time Machine live album are the only albums you really need, even though you'll find yourself listening to roughly five or six tunes from both sets. Having said that, those same six or seven tracks clearly outshine anything (as well as everything) in the Chickenfeed catalog.

Not of this earth, Surfing with the alien, Flying in a blue dream, The extremist, Time Machine, Engines of creation, Strange beautiful music, Is there love in space?

I have these and they're great. Engines of creation may be the exception. I like listening to these and going into Joe's world, but sorry, I do not enjoy Sammy's world anymore.

Sammy Hagar should be placed in a giant paper bag, doused with lighter fluid, placed on someone's porch so he could be mashed all over someone's foot...

Sammy Hagar Says Eddie Van Halen Owes Him An Apology

To say things between Van Halen and former members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony are strained is maybe a bit of an understatement. But despite the tensions there still a lot of love there for what the current Chickenfoot members did with their former band.

Hagar tells Vegas Rocks! in a new video interview that he’s still disappointed that the friendship with his former bandmates has concluded. He explains, “I could get along with Alex. I got along at one time with Eddie amazingly. Obviously Mike and I are dearest friends on the planet, but Ed and I … he turned on me. It was a horrible, horrible ending to a beautiful, beautiful story, and I’m still disappointed that they have not reached out to be friends, especially Alex, because Alex and I didn’t have a problem.” However, Hagar says he understands that Alex has to side with his brother.

But while the chips have fallen where they may, Hagar says he has no regrets where he is now as Chickenfoot is satisfying every musical need he has. He adds, “I am not hungry for any reunion, I am not hungry for any other band, and I am completely in love with Chickenfoot. If it wasn’t for that, I’d be bummed about the Van Halen situation.”

When asked if he might ever patch things up with Eddie Van Halen, Hagar said, “I can’t see why we wouldn’t and I can’t see why we shouldn’t, but I don’t know. It’s not my goal. I’m not out there wasting energy on that. As far as I’m concerned, he owes me an apology. As far as I’m concerned, if he wanted to be friends, he should reach back out to me because what happened on that reunion tour in ’04 was some of the most miserable, back-stabbing dark crap I’ve ever been involved with my whole life and I would never go through that again with anybody or for any amount of money or any amount of fame and fortune or nothing.”
