If he would have been elected during the great depression and started turning things around like he did in Germany he might have been able to do the same thing here he did there. The depression here was nothing compared to the financial ruin Germany was in. We didn't have hyperinflation and one old German once told me people were literally digging through trash to eat. Hitler looked pretty good and he was popular when he first came in.
