I agree, I don't necessarily like the Judy Garland'ish show moves, I don't necessarily like the unnecessarily higher registers that Dave forces in songs....

But the band is smoking right now... I'm more than willing to accept a Dave that isn't in his prime anymore.... Dave at his current level is better than 90% of the numbnuts in the music business nowadays....

And BTW, on the headset, we'll like to think we and the other sites had something to do with it, but I think it's logical that it was due to the technical issues he had with them....

They've given us a fuckin kick ass new cd of material, brought the show on the road (to a city near you). And does their fuckin best to Rock the only way VH knows how to do....

I'd like to think that if this is the final run in VH history, I'm glad as fuck Roth is at the helm...

If you're ready to jump ship NOW after sticking thru the decades of bullshit, just becuz of his grin (shaking my head)...I’m actually diggin today’s Dave. We’re getting a look at the wit behind the shtick, like with his book, and that makes him even more fascinating than before. And honestly, at this point in MY life, I don’t want to see the man running around in spandex, using the same ol’ lines on girls in the audience young enuff to be his granddaughters at this point. He is aging gracefully, and the show reflects that. I’d rather they go out with dignity, than behalf like middle-aged clowns chasing after a long past youth. And Dave’s grins and gestures have always been there (go back and look at pix and video), but a lot of us were probably more focused on his crotch at the time.

Saw VH last nite in Vegas. Loved the sound. IF I closed my eyes, it was awesome.

Don't get me wrong, I am a DLR fan all the way. Not a EVH fan, not a VH in any form fan. I am a DLR fan.

I have seen Dave 6 times live. I have all of Dave's albums. I even have boots and a gold record.

This silly dancing and shit eating grin has ruined it for me. I don't know if it is the VH sisters who are making him do this, or if he feels he needs to distract from his singing ( which is fine for a live show). But it is over for me.

I will not see Dave again unless this crap stops.


It used to be that Dave ( and VH) were more dangerous than the music. Now, they are about as dangerous as custard pie. If you don't appear serious, why should I see you any different.

I hope the checkered flag means this is the end of the race for Dave with VH.

Have to say I understand the OP's comments. I will be seeing VH on the Texas run of shows. I think it is an age thing. Dave hasn't been the Dave we remember from the 80s in a long, long, long time. Even on the Sam and Dave Tour...Roth looked outdated but my heart was still with the guy. I think Hagar's band blew away Roth's and Sammy's show itself took him to the woodshed...it's just Dave is extremely eclectic and lives in his own universe...always has. It just so happens that sheep herding dogs are his bag right now.

I could care less....I just wanna see him smile and enjoy the rest of his life. Enough of the drama already.
