Yeah, you're probably right. For some reason I thought these were elevated platforms which were lowered to the floor at the beginning of the show. Which might actually be safer than cables, but probably would cost more and take longer to set up.... so of course a cheapskate like Chaim wouldn't go for that.

KISS has used hydraulic lifts in the past. Using cables and platforms is always dicey. To come down from that high out of the lighting truss cables would be the logical option but all the cables attached to the platform have to move at the same speed or that platform tilts. When you have a heavy costume and are wearing big platform boots it’s probably pretty scary. Lot’s a Spinal Tap potential with that kind of rig.
