M'kay Socky... keep telling yourself that...from the couch.
Dismal how? It's common knowledge you Scots don't go to work till sometime Tuesday afternoon.
Sad part is that'll sail over the intended party's head.
I'll never say a bad word about Steve Blucher because long before my association with Duncan began, in the early '00s he listened to me at NAMM and totally prescribed the perfect Virtual Vintage set for my playing... dude's got great ears, I only played for a few minutes and he NAILED it. Though today I have Duncans in 6 out of 7 guitars, I still have that set in one of my Strats. I haven't encountered that level of intuitiveness again until I stated working with Duncan.
They're still great pickups. They have an airy clarity in the hi frequencies I like.
Like they don't naturally compress as much. It's hard describing sound, isn't it?
I shook hands with LBJ at LAX. I was only about 5 at the time. I didn't know who he was at the time. I just stuck my hand through the fence because everyone else was trying to but couldn't. I crossed the equater on a ship in the US Navy near Singapore and became a shellback. That's a big thing amongst men of the sea. And last but not least I had my picture taken with Erik Estrada at the LA car show one year. I won a fishing contest once too, but I cheated. I've also been to China, Japan, Thailand, The Philippines, South Korea, Singapore Hawaii, Canada, Alaska and Mexico. I've been to New Orleans, Chicago, Milwaukee, St Louis, Indianapolis, Dallas, Tucson, Phoenix, Vegas, San Francisco, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Yosemite, Death Valley, The Alamo, The Astrodome, The Sears Tower, The St Louis Arch, Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Ontario Motor Speedway, California Speedway, Texas Motor Speedway, Dodger Stadium, The Fabulous Forum, The LA Coliseaum, Anaheim Stadium, Jack Murphy Stadium, Texas Rangers Stadium in Arlington. I've seen the Dodgers, The Rams, The Raiders, The Texas Rangers, The Harlem Globe Trotters and the teams they played in person. I've been to numerous concerts, been deep sea fishing, deer hunting in Utah and I've been to a White Castles in Columbus Ohio. Basically I've lived a boring life.
Yes, keeping them in for tonal variety at the moment, I have more than enough Duncan points to replace them with classic stacks, or YJMs or whatever, but in no hurry...
What I DO want to do with that Strat however, is upgrade the bridge block to an FU brass Big-Block... it made a huge difference in the Sunburst one.
And you've been to Kings Cross, too!
So do you live in one of those caravan parks where your whole house is a skinny metal apparatus on wheels? And the outhouse is literally the outhouse. Used by at least 1400 people every day.
I remember as a kid in the 70's there was still a dunny man in these distant areas.. Imagine that for a shit job. And the boiler needed to be stoked if you wanted anything resembling hot water in the next day or two..
When I was a kid in the 60's in Oklahoma we had relatives that lived in the sticks that still had outhouses. They used corn cobs to wipe too. I lived on a ranch with indoor plumbing at the time. I'm assuming the dunny man is what you call the shit sucker. If you don't live where they have sewers you have to use a cesspool and it has to be pumped every few years. When it does you call a shit sucker to pump it out. If they get too full they overflow or your plumbing backs up. If you catch a whiff when a shit sucker's sucking shit you'll probably blow chunks. Some people live near the shit ponds where they take the shit and it smells almost as bad.
The dunny man came around twice a week, replaced your full cans with fresh new empty ones. None of this below ground tank storage rubbish.
I'm not a musician...why the fuck would I be invited? You're no different than anyone else attending a conference that pertains to their chosen profession. Yours just happens to be of interest to those outside of the profession.
You're doing what few get the opportunity to...follow their dream. You think because of that you are somehow better than others. Well, you're not.
Who the hell are you to question anyone's wotk ethic...or think perhaps yours is somehow better? I work full-time, go to school full time, and work with adults with complex physical disabilities...addressing barriers to their inclusion in everyday society...and I manage to do all that without resorting to belittling others, especially those less fortunate than I.
You come off as though you think your shit don't stink. Well, I've smelled it, and it reeks!

Damn. Can't even have a little fun around here anymore, without it getting all serious, and everyone getting their feelings hurt.
I guess when I make a semi-sarcastic comment, I should explain myself.
My intention was not to bash JHale's playing. I don't like the production. I know JHale hates the drum machines, and so do I. To me, that recording doesn't sound anything like a band, and I know it's not.
I can't play the guitar as good as the worst guitar player (Elvis ) on this site. I'm still on the first page of Roy Clark's Learn How To Play Guitar book, that I started 40 years ago!
Oh, I'm sure I beat Elvis as the worst guitarist around here.
I talked to my mail man on Saturday.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
I can see you are a busy man.
Did you know that anytime someone makes a post in 'The Doctor's T&A thread' and you aren't there, I get sent an Out of Office message from your work?
Do you really want me to take that message at face value and contact one of your colleagues to let them know there is some new porn up there...?
Here's who he is:

You're an idiot, seriously. If your goal was to make me regret ever sticking up for you, mission accomplished. No you haven't and no I don't... never once said I was better than anyone else....but apparently you're way insecure, so that's how you take it. Your problem, not mine. But you're a liar if you say you "don't resort to belittling others" - it's why you showed up in this thread like the fucking vulture you've become. HAD to talk shit because Lounge and I were posting. As usual, didn't read the thread, just talked shit. And no, I won't feel sorry for the guy that chooses, through his own lack of ambition - to be "less fortunate" yet still thinks he can talk shit.
The point was no one else talking smack here has put in the work. Yeah, I'm getting to follow my dream - because I'm (still) busting my ass for it (in addition to also having a full-time gig, so you get no sympathy there) - so no, really don't see anyone that's talking shit matching the work ethic (or output, for that matter) sorry. Inescapbable fact you can get as bent about as you want...won't change it.
You kinda killed a lot of the fun around here, not sure you've noticed. Perhaps you should have elaborated. Your original post sounded like your usual baseless carping, or just you being a douche towards me for no reason (also as usual). Btw, there's no "production", no mastering - those are the rough tracks. So perhaps you can tell us how anything I played all the instruments and programmed the drums for - would sound like a BAND, pray tell? Am I supposed to get drunk before I record one of the parts so it sounds like someone else or something?
Actually, Jhale...you completely missed the point. I'm not the only one that gets the attitude oit of your posts. It may not be your intent, but you come off as someone who looks down their nose at others.
And resorting to name calling says more about you than it does me...
Read your first fucking sentence...."idiot"...
And no, you have not proven any lies. As for descending on a thread like a vulture: In case you hadn't noticed, there's not many new posts these days. I commented on new posts that I felt inclined to. You assume it is in response to the person behind the keyboard...sorry to disappoint you.
Actually, you killed the fun around here. You and your minions that have to have the last word. Talk about insecure. You will argue a point until the cows come home, just for the sake of arguing. You allow yourself to be baited over and over and over again. You might want to ask yourself why. Mommy or Daddy issues? Not enough attention when you were a kid? Not enough attention now? I am very proud of your accomplishments JHale. No sarcasm at all.
Thanks for stating the obvious about your song. To me, it sounds exactly as you stated. One guy playing everything at separate times, and then throwing programmed drums in. Basically, no feeling in that song. That's my opinion. That's all. I'm not bagging on your ability to play, or your talent, or anything of that nature.
I don't need to have the last word. I'm not into the volleying back and forth crap. I am done with this. You can respond, I'll read it, and then we'll move on. Have fun at NAMM. I'd sure as fuck love to go there. Maybe someday the Cadaverdouche will get me an all access pass!

The second most amusing thing about this thread is watching sockfucker jabber on and on, while apparently failing to grasp that both "sides" think he's a complete idiot. Gold!
You know, I probably should have unsubscribed to those threads a long time ago, lol. Ok, I've fixed it. And yes, I do get an insane amount of vacation time each year. But that's what happens when you're in your 17th year of working for the same company.
Now - back to killing each other!
I would but you're not worthy of attending such a grand event. I got some backstage passes to the Oscars if you're interested. I know that doesn't compare to a Namm convention but beggars can't be choosers. You don't mind sitting by Brad and Angelina do you? If you do I can get you seated near Bob De Niro or my old pal Sly Stallone.
