Nuno Tenniscourt talks EVH on Rick Beato

Putting this in Main because he constantly references EVH throughout.

It's crazy how many adverts there are on YouTube these days...

Even if you're a registered youtube user, unless you pay extra for the youtube premium or youtube tv or whatever you get deluged with ads. Not just at the beginning of clips anymore, either, but during.

Which...I get it, in that it's fair enough because that's how the site makes their money and I can't really bitch for using the site for free...

One thing I'm noticing more and more is ads you can't skip over after 5 seconds or whatever...ads that don't give you the option to skip over them, and you have to watch them until they end before the clip plays.

Although if I really think about it, I'm surprised even having the ability to watch it for free is still around.

      Whatever.

This is the first interview from a rock musician I've seen in ages that I've enjoyed and actually learned from.

Don't be put off by the length you can always dip in and out.

Adblock will get rid of most of the ads. I'm running NoScript and uBlock Origin extensions on Firefox.

Ublock Origin will absolutely wipe out all YouTube ads if you watch in a browser. If you're watching on android phone or android TV device there are "alternative" you tube clients available. Sadly if you try to watch on a Samsung TV you''re fucked because there are no alternative clients available and no adblockers at all. Network/DNS based adblocking will take the ad bullshit out of most sites, but not YouTube, because the Google greedy bastards have figured out how to stream the ads & the actual content from the same source.

YouTube might find that less people would use adblockers on their site if they went with a reasonable ad policy. Run an ad before the video? Sure... as long as it isn't longer than the video itself. Run one after the video? Yeah, why not. I'd probably click out of it anyway. It's the ads thrown in randomly in the middle of the content that I can't stand. I refuse to buy any product advertised that way, just out of principle.

That was a cool interview. Thanks for posting it. Nuno can be a weird dude, but it seems most rock stars are in one way or another. It was nice to hear a humble and honest interview. He's a fan of music at heart, and did a fantastic job of verbalizing not only being a fan, but what makes great bands and great songs. I've always felt the way he feels about it, but to hear it the way he put it, from a guy that's been on top and is now back on top, is awesome. I broke it up into two sections because it is over 2 hours. But man, I was hooked. I watched the first hour, fixed dinner and then watched the rest.

Glad he played through the JCM 800. If you can make a Strat sound good through one of those big bloated amps you got skills. The buzz saw 5150 would have gotten in the way.

He's definitely a CVH fan. The best shout out in the entire interview is for Elliot Easton and his solos. His solos are *always* perfection.

Very interesting, I can't sit and watch a whole 2 hour interview but the bits and pieces I heard are gems...I had not seen that vids before.

I went and saw Extreme monday night. They tore it up. Nuno was on fire. At one point, sat on the speakers and played some of "Women In Love". Note for note, near perfect tone. If they were to do a VH tribute show (I don't want them to) this would be the guy to put on guitar. Not Satch.

By the way. Cherbone is still fucking weird!

Nuno did all the stage banter, other than introducing the band. My girlfriend said to me during the show that "The singer could probably suck his own dick". I told her about him turning his back to the audience, bending over and reaching between his legs and grabbing his asshole during the VHIII tour, and low and behold, the fucker ended up doing it again. She about died laughing!

Like I said above though. It was a damn good show. Glad I went.

Cheap Trick style. Zander rarely speaks between songs, it's always Nielsen.

Extreme opened for DLR in '91 but I don't remember much about their set.

It seems to have become very much Nuno's band, I get the impression Gary only writes the lyrics not the vocal melodies.

I have tickets for later in the year at a 2500 capacity place roughly the same size as where Von saw them. Any bigger venue than that and the gig gets progressively worse.
