Holy shit. In car now (not driving!). That was by far the best show I've ever seen. Ever!! Eddie was having a great time and sounded better than ever. Dave sounded great. Looked hot as usual! Was in a particularly sexual mood...couldn't keep his hands out of his crotch! Fine with me! Took a ton of video. Filled my phone! Will have to review them when I get home. Got GGB, women in love, HAIL. Dave did lose his headset not too far in. First the ear piece kept falling out. Then we were losing every other word for a line or two. Then he grabbed the handheld. He was pissed. The guy on the side went to take his headset and Dave threw it over his head. He also got pissed at someone in front of us. Not sure why. Someone thought they heard him telling someone to stop taking pix, but that doesn't make sense. Someone else thought maybe he was pissed at security. No idea. Only thing I missed.....Dave didn't say look at all the ppl here tonite. Other than that, it was perfect. I even cought a piece of VH candy Dave threw out at start of HFT. I'll try to post more coherently tomorrow. Brain is scrambled, can't hear, and my voice is gone. Promise vids in the am!!

First Roth Army Kiwi To See Van Halen Live 6/16/2012 Phoenix Arizona.
Just got back in the hotel. Quick IPad review. I saw the show in Louisville and was really happy compared to the other tour. Tonight was even better. The band is great, Dave sounds great live...WAY better than on the last tour. You just have to trust that the videos you see that you MIGHT feel Dave isn't getting it right are just bad videos. Yes he does sing sometimes in the higher register when he could sing lower, but he pulls it off. He had a technical issue with the headset. Threw the headset then tore the belt off that the receiver was on and threw it too. He seemed rather pissed. In my opinion it took him a few minutes to get some composure back. I also think the sound was a little much. Of course that is being very, very picky. But dang it is loud!
If you love Van Halen you NEED to see one of the shows. It is the closest thing you will ever get to memory lane. I saw Van Halen in Lakeland, FL on the 1984 tour and I can truly say that although they have lost their youth, the actual sound is way better.
On another note, I took a good personal friend and this was his first Van Halen tour, as he is not a huge fAn and he left saying that they may be the best band ever and DLR is definitely the greatest frontman he has every seen. GO SEE THIS TOUR. Don't watch the videos and try to be audio inspector and make decisions on them. I have been to so many concerts and probably seen most major rock bands at least once. Van Halen sounds great and Eddie is playing great.
Met up with my good buddy, Chris. We gawk at the marquee to see the name Van Halen in lights. Step into the Garden and what's the first thing we hear? Fucking Dreams blasting as we check out the shirts. What the?? Got me the grey motorcycle one. Go to our kick ass seats. Kool and the Gang tore shit up for 40 minutes. Hollywood Swingin and Jungle Boogie smoked. I walked up to the front after they were done to try to find Momshell to no avail. Went back to row 19 seat 6, sat down andwatched the simple yet classy stage come to life. I'm 6 ft tall. Some guy every bit of 6 ft 5" plops right in front of me. Go figure. No cat walk. Dance floor's been Swiffered. Let's go...

Dave most definitely found his '07-'08 voice somewhere during the 3 day rest. Unwavering, powerful, in time and on key. Holy shit did he bring it tonight. He had his harmonies ironed out with Wolf, especially in GGB. Dave did many jumps throughout the night that were breathe taking reminders of just how tremendous a showman he is and has always been. Wolfs bass playing was thunderous and fluid. Occasionally, his fills and song endings were like guitar runs, but that worked just fine. Ed was out of this world. I really don't know what to say about him that hasn't been said yet. It truly is hard to believe how spectacular his game is right now. Alex was his usual stoic yet exuberant self, replacing power playing with finesse. Much more to be said but I'm flying high and exhausted at the same time. One thing I can attest to is this: To say a You-Tube clip gives you a decent impression of an actual show experience is to say a bread crumb on your kitchen floor is enough to know how delicious last nights Italian dinner was. Good night everyone and I hope you all get to see them!

Just got home from MSG.........thank god that headset crapped out during China Town......Dave went old school and ripped. No energy or concentration spent on dancing and what not.....just great vocals......they still have the power.....at times you could close your eyes and it might as well have been 1982 again. The mighty Van Halen......I've seen the vids of the shows thus far and Dave's voice was stellar tonight.......absolutely killer.....Wolf has pipes....Alex is still a beast and Ed has completely come full circle. I'll be posting vids shortly.....

I would rather talk about how good they sound in these clips, but facts are facts.....Eddie asked Billy Sheehan FIVE times to be the bassist for VH. Ed is one half of the backing vocals of VH, and he is sounding great in these clips......it's more than obvious that he and wolf are both really singing the back ups. I would love to see Mike there, but Wolf is the reason we have what we have and the kid can play.
Trunk is annoying and I have listened to his show on local NYC radio on the weekends for years, but yeah he is a Hagarita. WHO CARES though?
