Am I the only one who read this?

TREMONTI, the band comprised of Mark Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars and Garrett Whitlock on drums, has announced a new set of European tour dates. Already confirmed to support IRON MAIDEN for a number of shows in mainland Europe, TREMONTI's new dates are all headline appearance...

It says Wolfgang didn't tour with Tremonti in 2015 because he was touring with VH. Not that there is a VH tour this year.

It's badly written but yeah the line about him and Van Halen seems to refer to previous tours and not necessarily the reason for missing this one.

TREMONTI Announces 'A Dying Machine' European Tour

TREMONTI, the band comprised of Mark Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars and Garrett Whitlock on drums, has announced a new set of European tour dates. Already confirmed to support IRON MAIDEN for a number of shows in mainland Europe, TREMONTI's new dates are all headline appearances...

...TREMONTI's third album, "Dust", was released in April 2016 via Fret 12.

"Dust", which was recorded during same sessions as 2015's "Cauterize", featured Tremonti on vocals/guitars, Eric Friedman on guitars, Wolfgang Van Halen on bass and Garrett Whitlock on drums. Baskette produced "Dust".

Although Wolfgang Van Halen was part of TREMONTI's touring band in 2013 and played on "Dust" and "Cauterize", he sat out TREMONTI's tour schedule because of commitments with VAN HALEN.

TREMONTI recruited Tanner Keegan to play bass on its most recent tour.

That's what I got out of that as well, mostly out of the tense of phrase "sat out" which one guesses refers to a previous tour and not the current one.

Were it the case Van Halen was mounting a tour for 2018, one would assume dates were in the booking process already, and doubtless news of that would have leaked out: hasn't even been so much as a single rumor of any such activity far as I've heard.

I will see the IRONS in June. So maybe they play there. Would have been nice with Wolf though.

Although with the wording of the thing, it'd be easy to conclude that Wolfgang was turning down an upcoming tour because he was working with Van Halen this year.
