Seriously? If you asked 100 random people in various places who The Misfits are or were doubtful more than a couple of them could come up with a correct answer and most of those answers would be Glenn Danzig's old band. You ask the same people who GnR is or was and you'd get a lot more correct responses.

Not really....
Back when The Beatles were recording a lot of covers, most of them were pretty big names at the time (Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, etc.) Over 50 years later you can certainly say The Beatles were bigger than any of them, but that wasn't really what John & Paul were thinking when they were trying their best to replicate the vocal harmonies on songs like this....

No but by "contemporaries" I meant musicians who were recording music in the same genre as well as time period. Songs from bands recording the same type of music around the same time as the Beatles. The Stones, The Who, The Kinks, etc. Most of the songs they covered were from early rockers like Chuck Berry and a handful of songs by Motown artists.Beware of DogComment
