    Rove: Biden a 'blowhard' and 'liar' - Carol E. Lee - POLITICO.com

As much as people want to say shit about Rove, on this he may be right, if purely on the basis that when would Biden and Bush be alone to have these heart to hearts? Nobody from either party seems to remember these lectures taking place.

Rove: Biden a 'blowhard' and 'liar'

    April 10, 2009 07:24 AM EST

Karl Rove called Joe Biden a “blowhard” and a “liar” in response to some of the vice president’s comments about the Bush administration.

"He’s a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind I would say he’s a liar, but it’s a habit he ought to drop,” Rove said on Fox News. "You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the vice president of the United States.”

Rove's comments are the harshest and most pointed yet in an ongoing feud between Biden and Bush administration officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney.

The former Bush adviser was referring to Biden’s comments earlier this week on CNN that he and President George W. Bush once had an exchange in the Oval Office, where Bush said, "Well, Joe ... I'm a leader,” and Biden responded: “Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following.”

"It didn't happen," Rove said. "It's his imagination. It's a made-up, fictional world. He ought to get out of it and get back to reality.”

Rove, who called Biden a “blowhard,” also took aim at Biden’s previous remarks that he had spent "a lot of hours alone" with Bush.

"Joe Biden was never alone with the president for more than a few moments," Rove said. "There was staff in the room the whole time."

Biden spokesman Jay Carney told Fox earlier this week, "The vice president stands by his remarks."

I don't remember Bush or Cheney spending much time slamming the previous administration after they took office. I think this tactic of keeping as much blame & attention as possible on anyone other than the Obama administration is getting old really fucking quick. It's a standard campaigning tactic, not a Presidential tactic.

Karl Rove calling anybody a liar is like Sammy Hagar complaining about someone writing bad lyrics.

So do you guys dispute Rove's claim? Wouldn't this be one of the easier things to prove or disprove, since the Presidential record of mundane matters like this is well documented?

            Is it?

The Bush years were some of the most secretive since Nixon about these things....

Recall Jimmy Jeff / Gannon Guckert's dozens of midnight west wing visits being scrubbed off the visitor logs?

Rove is full of shit, unless HE was there for every second Biden was.

And even then, I dont trust Rove to know the truth, let alone speak it....

They're both full of shit. But I don't really give a damn whether Biden and Bush talked about it or not.

Seriously? Who gives a fuck about something that trivial? There's much more important shit to deal with.

No, but Darth has sure gone out of his way to slam the current administration after he left office......

There is more important shit, but if he is making it up about this, it shows a lack of character (spare me your outrage about the "others, what about so and so). If he is bullshitting about this, bigger matters I would have serious reservations about. He already is from wilmington-scranton, america's newest twin city..

Lounge, I seriously doubt there would be pages missing regarding Joe Biden's alone time with GW in 2005. Not exactly top priority of the "kept secret" list.

I take a simple perspective on all this...

If Joe Biden drove a Chevy Silverado with a Tracker Bass boat trailered behind it and was sitting on the tailgate drinkin a beer and said these things. I'd think nothin of it... perfectly normal for a fisherman to tell a whopper or two on any day.

Now as a suit... who's probably not had a fishin rod in his hands in years, but is a long time Washington politician... again... perfectly normal for a politician to tell a whopper or two on any given day.

Only problem I see with Biden and his bullshit... he ain't smart enough to know that the best whoppers to tell are the times it's just you and your fishin buddy out on the lake and no one can verify it.

Telling fishing tales of talking smack to the previous President of of the US... which everything is generally monitored and recorded in some way... That's just plain stupid Joe... stick to fishin stories or shut the fuck up!!

Blowhard, liar----and.......Don't forget multiple examples of plagiarism too.

                              Joe Biden's plagiarism problem
                              Thomas Lifson

Political insiders have long known about Joe Biden getting caught plagiarizing almost word-for-word a speech given by British Labour politician Neil Kinnock. In fact, that killed his 1988 presidential campaign.

But a more serious plagiarism charge has been out there even longer - that he plagiarized in law school. That is something that can get you thrown out if proven.

Sweetness & Light remembers this 1987 New York Times article:

Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr., a Democratic Presidential candidate, was accused of plagiarism while in his first year at Syracuse University Law School, academic officials familiar with Mr. Biden's record said today. [....]

According to the people familiar with the record of the 44-year-old Senator from Delaware, he was called before the disciplinary body at the law school during his first year because of charges that he had committed plagiarism on a paper. Mr. Biden entered the school in 1965 and graduated in 1968.

CBS News tonight quoted an aide to Mr. Biden as saying he had been exonerated. However, an academic official said Mr. Biden had been found guilty, "threw himself on the mercy of the board" and promised not to repeat the offense. This, according to the official, persuaded the board to drop the matter and allow Mr. Biden to remain in law school. Mr. Biden's office declined to clarify the circumstances surrounding the case, saying the Senator had insisted on handling the matter himself at the news conference. [....]

Unsurprisingly, the New York Times article actually downplays the Kinnock plagiarism. For Mr. Biden didn’t just plagiarize his words, he plagiarized his life.

From a concomitant article in the (FL) St. Petersburg Times:

American Thinker Blog: Joe Biden's plagiarism problem
