For me Kashmir was never the same after '75 when Jimmy used the Les Paul still instead of the Silvertone. And once the mellotron went away? Forget it! That old piece of crap is awesome! I want one. Sounded great on Them Crooked Vultures.

gnaw on it
Piece of crap ??
great, Elvis - I love it. Amidst the ocean of crap that you will find on youtube, you have to marvel at stuff like this. For years I have wondered how a mellotron worked.
THINK LIKE THE WAVES
"Piece of crap ??"
I said I want one right after that. but they are nuts. playing a tape of the tone when you hit the key? You need a technician to keep it runnin! But they sound awesome.

BTW, Trunk attended the premiere last night in NYC, said it looked and sounded great.....

I don't mind Trunk attending these things, but not the other two clowns....
Pathetic. Pathetic post.
REVIEW. Good stuff if you like Zeppelin. Kristy this means you. Lol. What I noticed most is they didn't fix very much. They cut down the feedback on Plant's mic for Good Times Bad Times but you can still hear it. The part of Nobodys Fault were Plant plays harmonica and the band kind of falls apart is left in. I think they tried to play it that way anyway. In the old days they played behind him. The one part of No Quarter that was the worst screw up is cut out. You really can't tell at all. But what is cool is they left in the ending where they have to try and get back on track. And it works good. I thought they would patch it up with rehersal audio or something. The beginning of Rock & Roll were Jimmy's guitar sounds a little flat was left alone also. Overall I was suprised how good and powerfull they sounded. John Paul is one talented guy ! Page plays his sloopy blues as always, but he is on his game for the most part. Jason holds his own. Very powerfull on most songs. Plant was just o.k. to me. Really rose to the occasion on Kashmir & Stairway. And he showed power on other songs. His voice is very different than just from the Page/Plant tours. I can see why he wants no part of a reunion tour. The tuned down stuff sounds fine. I noticed it most on The Song Remains The Same. But it still came out great. I missed the Rain Song after it. Wish they did an acoustic set. Going To California & Black Country Woman would have been cool ! It's filmed really cool. Almost all close ups. They could of left out the 8 mil. camera shots but at the same time it was cool. The looks on their faces in between songs is really cool. You can tell they are really into it. I have a boot of the show and always thought they played very good overall. This proves it ! If they did take it out on the road for a few dates a year I could only imagine they would have been even tighter if they filmed it after a few shows. Loved it. Can't wait to buy it.

Oh yea. Page cut out the snippets of the cover song that were in some of the songs. I expected this after he did it on the remastered S.R.T.S. For a rich guy he sure is cheap ! Paying royalties for the stuff he borrowed must have got the best of him over the years ! lol.
So it sucked..? What a surprise.
This boot is pretty awesome...
Of course we couldn't have a Led Zeppelin thread without some stupid cunt running her mouth.
What a great day. A new Led Zeppelin movie. All true rock fans rejoice! This is the best it's gonna get.
It was at the IMAX theater here in Nashville for 2 nights. I did not go....am just going to buy the DVD when it comes out.
I don't like guys calling girls cunts.
However it reminds me of the Chris Rock OJ bit.
"I'm not saying he should have killed her............but I understand."
I don't have any proof that it's a woman. And people who vocally hate on Led Zeppelin REPEATEDLY do not deserve even a modicum of respect or decorum. Fuck 'em. It's the height of poor taste.
And BTW I have the cunt on ignore, but when you guys quote it I don't have much choice but to read its nonsense.
I'll be picking that up the day its on sale.....
nice way to close out their career
I'm wondering if I should buy the vinyl or not, but what's the point if it's digitally sourced anyway? Then it's just easy to scratch and a pain in the ass to flip 9 times to listen to the whole show. And they hardly ever hook you up with the MP3 these days.
Avoid today's vinyl releases at all cost. The packaging is shoddy, and the actual record itself bears little if any resemblance to the sturdy LPs from the sixties and seventies. In fact, they fail to measure up to the audio quality of the era when Kelloggs and Post printed 45s on the back of cereal boxes.
That's bullshit...
No, it's a fact. I recently purchased Miles Davis' Kind of Blue along with John Coltrane's A Love Supreme (both on 180 gram virgin vinyl) and they sound awful. The albums are so thin I'm afraid to leave them out at room temperature, and the album sleeves are barely even glued together. I was utterly disappointed, and will not be making that mistake again.
I'll wait until Neil Young unleashes his new PONO sound system on the buying public next year. LINK
Well, my new Biizzard and Diary sound really good and are quality products...
my ADKOT vinyl is very nice as well...
The new Van Halen vinyl owns.
And yes, they DID put records on the back of cereal boxes in the 70s.
Usually some stupid crap like The Archies or whatever.
Probably worth a mint these days.....
I want my Sugar Crisp record!!!!
PRESENCE is so fucking bad-ass!!!
Yes it is! Other than PhysGraf, it's my fave. Could go either way, depending on my mood...
My karma just ran over your dogma.
Shame to see how many of you lie to yourselves in this thread.
The day Jimmy Page dies an agonizing death and Satan rams a hot pitchfork up his crusty ass will be a day of grand celebration for Kristy.
