Poison & Motley Crue to tour.

    From Blabbermouth

It's Official: POISON And MÖTLEY CRÜE To Team Up For Summer Tour - Feb. 28, 2011

Recent "The Celebrity Apprentice" winner and Donald Trump favorite, rocker Bret Michaels, currently recuperating from heart surgery, will reunite with all original POISON bandmates for a 25th-anniversary tour tentatively titled "Glam - A - Gedon 25". For the first time ever POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE will co-headline a select date summer tour with special guests the NEW YORK DOLLS.

Although several controversial statements have been made in the press by certain members of MÖTLEY CRÜE vowing this tour would never happen, that is simply not the case. Fans of both bands have spoken and want the tour to happen and both MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON have agreed. Concert promoters in these select cities state that the buzz is unbelievable for both the POISON dates as well as the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour. No doubt this will be the rock tour of the summer.

Tickets for the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour will go on sale March 18. POISON plan to kick off their 25th-anniversary "Glam -A – Gedon 25" tour in Tupelo Mississippi at the Bancorp South Arena Wednesday May 25. Michaels will then continue solo, playing Thursday, May 26 in Ft. Walton Beach where he will perform for the fans and troops as he did last Memorial Day weekend. Michaels will rejoin POISON in Little Rock at the River Fest Amphitheater on Friday, May 27. Michaels will then perform solo at the Hard Rock in Biloxi on Saturday, May 28. Bret will rejoin POISON and MÖTLEY CRÜE Sunday, May 29 at Rocklahoma. POISON will then continue on alone playing arenas from Memorial Day until rejoining MÖTLEY CRÜE in Dallas at the Starplex Amphitheater on Tuesday, June 7.

When reporters recently asked Bret Michaels if there was any bad blood between the bands, Michaels laughed: "There may be some friendly competition but there is no bad blood at all on my part. Nikki [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] and I have spoken several times on the phone recently and the conversations went great." Michaels continued, "Music is a universal language and I am extremely excited that this tour has come together as are the fans, they are truly going to see a great show. Honestly, I could care less about all the mudslinging, it gets nobody nowhere, and after all I have been through health wise in the last year, I am going to try to focus on what does matter which is the show, the fans, fun and personally throwing a hell of a backstage party."

Bret Michaels' solo tour will start March 19 when he appears at Muhammad Ali's "Celebrity Fight Night" alongside Kevin Costner, David Foster, Billy Crystal, Halle Berry and Reba McIntire and will continue up until the MÖTLEY CRÜE / POISON tour starts. The "Get Your Rock On" solo tour in support of the album of the same name will resume immediately following the select summer dates with MÖTLEY CRÜE and POISON

Is Mick Mars up to a tour?

I would probably go to that for a laugh.

They should call it Mime A Gedon though...

The only reason I ever went to see either of these bozos was to surf the crowd for puss. That was 20 years ago. All those cute little camel-toes are now hammered moose-knuckles.

    They should call it "Grandma-geddon"

Don't forget the hairspray, the spandex, the wide headbands with Japanese symbols. Yeah, approaching 50-something ex-alcoholic/coke burn-outs who have no education beyond a power chord. Who wouldn't want to see that? Screw the 80's. Glad I remember little about that bloated decade.

Well, not everything in the 80s sucked as bad as Posion did. In fact, the first half of the 80s was quite enjoyable. The second half overall blew chunks, music-wise anyway.

Motely Crue? First two albums were good.

Seeing these two tosspot bands now? Not a fucking chance.

I agree. No fucking way would I waste my time or cash on those fucking idiots.

Saw Crue on the Shout At The Devil tour. They were still a solid heavy metal band, but they went downhill immediately afterwards. Though I did like some stuff on the Dr. Feelgood album.

Saw them on that tour in 1989 in Kansas City and swore I would never see them again. Mick turned in the worst goddam guitar solo I have ever seen an arena act do in my life. Some people rant about how underrated he is. Well, he may be a decent guitarist, but that night he sucked motherfucking ass!

Do any of these guys really need the money?

I mean, it's clear that they all hate each other - why would Nikki go on tour with Bret?

I'd say that is the only reason why they are doing it. Seeing rock stars (no matter what band they were in) wouldn't be so bad if they had aged along with their fan base. The ones that survived and have success are the ones who did such as The Stones and Springsteen. This seems like a MTV-era scam to me, the whole riding the wave of nostalgia with not much in the way of new material.

Terry could be right, the 80's as a whole didn't suck but certain reminents of it do.

Oh it's a complete nostalgia trip. Taken for what they are (were) - a hedonistic party band - Motley Crue are worth seeing live. But why on earth they would tour with Poison is beyond me. They've spent years denying that they were part of that 'scene', this seems like an affirmation of it to me.

Nikki Sixx seems more interested in his side-projects these days, and good luck to him. What pisses me off, thought, is the pure insincerity of touring with a band like Poison, who they clearly have no respect for - surely Sixx, Vince and Tommy can't need $$$ that badly to whore themselves like this.

That being said: this will not be as cringeworthy as Vince Neil on the ice-skating suck-fest....

The 80's was a diverse decade. I remember a sliver of the late 60's. I went through the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, the 00's. The 80's were the best. You didn't have the angry protesting. The economy was decent. I could gross $3000-$6000/month in the summer then. There was so much good music and that LA hair band thing was a micron in it all. It was a fun time to be in high school and college. You could get through college debt free in those days too. Healthcare was affordable. What fueled it all was the personal computer revolution. It was invented here, the equipment and software was made here. There was a lot of money coming into the US because of that and then like dummies we outsourced that with everything else.

In the 80's we just worked hard and played hard. We had fun. We dressed nice as well. You didn't go out to a club without dressing up. Look at the old videos. Very few fat people. The 90's and 00's were the real greed decades. That's when everyone went crazy on the easy credit and built all those god awful McMansions.

I agree. I think Motley Crue is worth seeing any day. Associating themselves with Poision, however, makes no sense. Motley Crue at least had the first 2 records and a lot of singular moments thereafter. Poison never had a good record. It pissed me off when Dave let them open for him on the Skyscraper tour. If they want to do a nostalgia trip at least go out with someone reasonably cool like Tesla or Cinderella. I don't get where people talk about the 80's as a bloated decade. What were the 90's - a skinny, flannel shirt and haven't taken a bath in a week decade?

I saw them around that time and Mick's guitar solo was the highlight of the show.

It was the funniest thing I can remember ever seeing in a rock show. We were doubled over holding our sides.

I saw it again on YouTube a while ago and it still stands up there with some of the best Nigel Tufnel moments but you really had to be there.

Why are you at a VAN HALEN/David Lee Roth fansite if you hate the 80's so much?

That is an odd prayer, My son, but verily, he does indeed suck. So does the guy from Nickelback who thinks he looks like Me.

I don't hate the 80's; the Roth/Van Halen 80's-era didn't suck. The 80's as a whole was multi-faceted and its difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff and there was a lot of chaff in the 80's.

    YOu're right it ain't 1987 anymore. It's 2011 and I wish it was 1987.
A rock concert is still a good reason to go get hammered , just like it was in 87.

1987 was a good year. I would go back in a heart beat as long as I have the knowledge I have now. I would tear that fucker up rolling in a Smorgasbrod of shallow, lovely decadence savoring every morsel.

I'll take a pass on this one.
    These guys are done-it's over.
Vince just got nailed again for DUI. Killing Razzle from Honoi Rocks wasn't good enough I guess??? Mars looks like he's been hit buy a fucking truck
CC Deville is a coke head. Michaels is going to have a heart attack if he keeps the touring going on. He's nuts to do this.
Loved the Crue in the 80's and even their newer stuff is good but it's over.
    Move On.........
