I previously (4 years ago) had just posted links to a couple of DVDs I had created of this show.
I have now made it available for your viewing pleasure in 1080p Hi-Def.
Enjoy.
Unless you do not.

In addition, I have uploaded the 4/27/12 Nashville show, but only in standard def.
I thought Roth was out of gas on these shows. Or at least the one posted. Did they do two ? I wasn't as hard on Roth as some people for this tour. But I just thought his tank was empty at the Bowl.
Yes, they did two shows at the Bowl. This is why Dave came out during the first song saying "And taking the field, for the second half of the Hollywood Super Bowl....".
I saw them in Birmingham, AL 2 weeks prior, and Dave was about the same. Coulda been better. Coulda been much worse.
I had a great time putting the video together. So I am happy with his performance.
And you did damn well!
Dave performed better at the Bowl than he did in Japan.
Chances are it might well have been their last concert in the US, and wherever.
Love it. Thanks for providing that Hardrock.
Don't you hate being right?
Turns out to be their last concert, EVER.
The number of view is seriously increasing, for obvious reasons.
I saw that music sales of Van Halen have risen 6,000% since Ed died.
They will gain a lot of new fans, as many sales will be younger generation wondering why everyone is crying so hard.
Man. I can't believe I am writing shit like this.
Poor Wolfy....I am sure he is probably really, REALLY destroyed right now.
This is amazing. Thank you.

Brilliant. Thank you my friend.
You all are quite welcome.
A friend of mine provided the audio. Both Soundboard and a pristine digital audience recording.
If I had not had those, I would not have done it.
I still watch this once a week, and I find it hard to believe I could edit together such a great piece of finished video.
And I am so glad I did. What a fitting bootleg for a band which changed my guitar playing, and changed my sense of composition.
I have written songs where I stole bits and pieces of performance.....hey, Ima do some background vocals like Van Halen, or (more commonly), I will be playing a guitar solo and throw in some tapping here and there.
Then there is this place, which would not have existed if not for The Mighty Van Halen.
I would not have met you all if it were not for them.
Goddammit it fucking sucks to talk about this shit in light of Ed's passing. He was supposed to live to be 80 years old and trying to be tapping with arthritis and a cane.
Right back at ya. I met a lot of good friends I still talk to all the time because of this band. And I still miss Jer (MAX)...this news this week would have knocked him over. He's probably asking Ed for an autograph or a personal performance up in the clouds as we speak.
So I never sold a million records or made a million bucks from my music.
No big deal.
But the crazy thing is....I am solidly now a part of Van Halen history.
2 weeks ago the video had 300 views.
Now it is up over 212,000, increasing at a rate of about 10,000 views a day.
I am going down in VH History as the dude that edited and produced THE video of their final live performance.
Not intentionally AT ALL. Sheer accident.
It is actually a title I would rather not have, though I am proud of the excellence of it as just a "bootleg concert video".
Hardrock69 gonna go mothafuckin' PLATINUM!
You are a part of VH history!
HARDROCK, having already seen it, I'm psyched to watch it again this weekend. Burned a Blu-ray out of it with some extra clips. It's an awesome at-home VH experience in my home theater. Warmest thanks, my friend. It's their last concert. It's history. And it sounds and looks great and is just so fucking awesome to enjoy.
When the remastered soundboard audio set, The Last Eruption, or whatever it was, came out a few weeks back....of course I wondered...should I use this and try to improve the audio on the video?
I came to the conclusion that I am going to leave the video as it is.
Others have done soundboard-only versions. The first guy to try it wound up making it slightly out of synch, and then there is some newer guy who has something in the title of his version like "Van Halen's Last Show, with perfectly synched soundboard audio!"
Whatever. When you let the horse out of the barn, that stuff happens.
From the start, I wanted to have audience audio in the mix, as the source of the audio has high-quality gear, and the recording was perfect. What is a Van Halen concert without a bunch of drunk Van Halen fans yelling and sckreeming and shit?
I had worried about my mix not seeming to be really huge and stuff, but the answer to that is to turn up your stereo, lol. This was exactly 5 years ago I was making these judgement calls.
Many of you peeps have 5.1 setups and stuff....I still do not, and mix in stereo with flat settings, eq'ing only when necessary.
I just figured with modern subwoofers many people have, I did not want TOO much low-end, as I figured many peeps might have bass-heavy setups already.
Surely if wifey or the kids like rap music or low-endy pop-type things, like the recordings of earthquakes, etc.
My main thing was to have everything punchy and clear, make sure Wolfy could be heard cleanly and separately from Alex's kicks, and let the listeners deal with the sound on their end.
I never asked to be in this situation. It was just a personal project for myself and a few friends.
But suddenly I find my efforts have become a public part of history.
