This song should have been a single.
This song should have been a single.
Can't Control your Future. Can't Control your Friends. The women start to hike their skirts up. I didn't have a clue. That is when I kinda learned how to smile a lot. One Two Three Fouir fun ter thehr fuur.
Blood and Fire...no brainer summer time hit
"Ya know what they say about angels... An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, usually humanoid in form, found in various religions and mythologies. Plus Roth fan boards..."- ZahZoo April 2013
Shit none of the Roth Army women are typical! We are way better!
I can hear this one being a movie soundtrack tune.
So has "You And Your Blues" been performed live yet?
They should do this live. I'd be stoked.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”
I think this might end up being my favorite song on the disk... I still have a few hundred listens to go before I make my final decision though.
I love Al and Wolf playing in unison just before the solo. Also like the nice little descending bass line towards the end too. I'd definitely categorize this tune as a grower. It's done grown on me now!
Couldn't agree with you more dude. That's EXACTLY what this tune is.....a grower. The more I listen to it, the more it sounds like the perfect song to be released as a single. The song is almost put together perfectly. Great vocals, great chorus, great riffs, possibly the best lyrics on the album, and a kick ass finish. Just a solid rock and roll tune.
For some reason, every time I listen to 'You And Your Blues' I get the feeling that this song was originally 'Eat They Neighbor' - one of the tracks Dave worked on for '5150' before he split. Maybe it's the chord structure EVH uses, or maybe it's reminiscent of where Ed went with that album after Dave hit the road. Naturally, it was too good of a riff to have S. Haggar screeching culinary metaphors and "Heys! and Ows! and Yeahs!" over, so he tucked that one away in a shoe-box marked 'Roth.' Either way, it's definitely single material - Dave nails it in my opinion.
Such a great tune . By far my the best on the album .IMO.
My tickets in the mail yet?
Just have to say after wearing this whole album out for the last 2 1/2 months, I still queue up YAYB repeatedly... sometimes even 2-3 times in a row and cranked ! Something about this song is just so perfect for VH at this point in their lives/career/age and most of all Dave's voice.
My fav as well song is all vh.
I sing this like a righteous black woman.
Same ole song and dance...
I think a youtube cover by a 'righteous black woman' (even from a white woman feeling the groove) would be awesome!
Although the 'woman' parts might come across a little gay, but I'd understand

Ed played You and Your Blues at the soundcheck in Winnipeg. I was so hoping they would add it to the setlist but did not. For sure a classic tune to me is a perfect 10 and easy top 40 hit.
Ain't going to heaven anytime soon
So good to have this song follow "She's the woman" and "Tattoo," it all flows.
Every DLR/VH album has had that magic flow.
Even Diver Down. I hate how that album gets a canning. When you take it all in... to perspective, that album has such hidden meaning it's captivating when you are riding along with it in your headphones. I dunno about you, but I "get" it. I enjoy it every time. Absolutely.
Every album does that to me, surely it must to you.
Yeah,
Defines the album; you hear this song, it's like BOOM, this ain't no She's The Woman, I'm talkin' the blues man, how it is. It's a great twist, I love it! The song order. If they make this decision as a band that would be nice to know, or maybe Dave does it, I wonder??? Does anyone know?
Sadly, I think Dave is singing this one about me.
I dedicate this song to all the stupid depressed cunts all over the world...
Just fine...
How's your empty life ??
Do I sense a bit of ELVIS envy ??
