Agreed, it's predominately not the old and weak out protesting... but all those other folks have to go home and interact within their families/communities. Many will develop heavy viral loads, while remaining asymptomatic silently spreading it to others who chose not to attend the socially popular viral seeding events... er... protests.
Responsibility is a complex and heavy burden to carry... while the civil protests continue for very valid social problems that demand attention... one can't ignore the hypocrisy many will or should feel while they clutch their protest signs touting "Lives Matter" while their parent/grandparent/sibling/friend gasps their final breath on a ventilator and they realize the source of their suffering was they were too stupid to wear a simple mask properly, avoid large crowds, and stay 6 feet or more away from others during a widely publicized global pandemic...

To be fair, it's rained here most of May and the overnight temperature was 45 a week ago.
Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.
The vast majority of protesters here were masked, most for the COVID and some for the gas, many wet their masks...
I agree that heat, UV and humility might reduce transmissions but it's spreading in warmer climates like Brazil (like wildfire) and has spread in Australia at the end of their summer...
The BPD being fucking dickhead macho cunts heroically bowling over a 75 year old man:
The most shameful part of it is that the Police tried to lie about it saying he "tripped and fell" making themselves look like like degenerate assholes. The outcry since has made them suspend the 2 cops without pay and there is an investigation. The man is okay and talked to Gov. Cuomo from his hospital bed phone..

The Buffalo cops should be fired and criminally charged/prosecuted.
Well Nick at least your cops are equal opportunities bastards.
If nothing else, when are these pricks going to realize they can't do that shit any more now that everyone has a video camera in their pocket? I think the numbers for police killing 'suspects' is the same as it always has been, the game changer is quite often they are doing it on video now.
I guess I must be naive because I'm fucking stunned that this wasn't always the case???Negotiators for the city of Minneapolis have agreed with the state to ban the use of chokeholds by police and to require police to report and intervene anytime they see an unauthorized use of force by another officer.
Certainly should have been. But the cops (at least in the US) tend to support other cops as a rule, even when they know for a fact they're guilty as sin.
For example, the 2 cops in Buffalo who knocked over a 75 year old man were "suspended", and then pretty much the rest of the police department "resigned" from protest duty in support of those bastards.
Yup. It’s called crossing the blue line. I know so many ex cops. Two main things make these guys quit. Corruption in the department and city or state. The job is more dangerous. For what the job pays it’s just not worth it. I actually know an officer who has PTSD from having to shoot a guy.
They all say it’s going to be hard to recruit decent people to be police officers now. Their worry is things will just get more thuggish. Also the cops get used in people’s divide and conquer games. In many ways cops are pawns.
There is nothing more dumb on this planet than a big mob of people. It can be for a good cause but mobs are dumb. Add in riot police and shit just tends to happen. Usually a protest is just people getting stuff off their chest. It’s emotional release more than anything.
I think you are right. Then the video goes viral and so many people get pissed cities burn. That’s not good either. The bad cop gets busted but at a hell of a cost. I think a lot of it is a cop just snapping. The 100th monkey jumps on the last nerve in the heat of the moment and they go way overboard.
Bottom line... a lot of the brutality should not be happening with or without cameras/video present. Most cases it's not even warranted. Some cases, yes it's necessary, but the lines are being drawn pretty clearly.
Law enforcement needs to wake up and realize the shifting tides... equal justice will now be swiftly applied to everyone... even those in uniforms with badges.
Indeed. Some of the worsts ones work in the Erie County Holding Center, and they do indeed seem to murder white inmates along with the black ones.

And the curious 2012 case of Eric Metcalf who suffered from an acute mental illness and was beaten to death...
The two officers have been charged with a felony assault due to the victim's age (75)...
The 57 Police who quit the ERT said they did so because the Union pressured them by saying they wouldn't provide any defense if police are sued or charged for anything connected to the riots. On the bright side, violence and looting seems to have dropped to almost nil here and most other places...

Angry rioting tends to burn out pretty quick on it’s own. Being a police officer is a tough job. If you have the skills to be a good one you can do something else and make more money and not have your life or your mental health on the line. It’s all about having decent people and training but training is expensive and some cities are lax on that. There are people who are just naturally wired to be police officers who want to “protect and serve”. I’ve known a few of those and even rode the beat with some. But I’ve known a few who have gotten burned out and do something else.
In a typical Democrat approach of compromise, I hear Joe Biden is saying that Martin Luther King should have been shot in the leg...
So they should just beat people to death with impunity? Attack journalists that are in no way a physical threat? Probably at least two, maybe three of the officers that were culpable in the murdered of George Floyd were probably otherwise decent people in a very awful situation led by a fucking dickbag. But a lot of what goes on in these institutions prevents them from speaking up or doing much about what at least two of them apparently didn't like. If one of the rookies grabs and physically stops Minnesota Reichsmarshal Training Ofc. Herr Derek Chauvin from essentially choking a man to death, they are fired or severally admonished and driven to quit (i.e. Serpico) or they plod through their jobs while effectively having to cover for the really bad ones. There are dept's in the country that are far worse than others and have systemic issues of not just violence, but of completely unethical and illegal behavior and there seems to be near impunity for it. For instance, there is a town in Louisiana where the cops feel free to lock up witnesses to crimes to insure they testify, they routinely violate civil rights and were investigated by the Justice Dept' under Obama, but Jeff Sessions basically rolled everything up and did nothing because most of the victims were black (but not all), and it was the Obama Admin Justice Dept. that investigated it...
Yes there are good cops, but the system is that they are largely unable to to do much in most cases. Most cops earn a pretty fucking good living, even the lowest paid ones have by contemporary standards generous retirement pensions and benefits most other occupations don't offer anymore. You factor in overtime and you're looking at six figures for many and the ones that have the easiest suburban jobs earn the most. So, yes I respect most police and mainly have had decent interactions with them. But you also have to balance that with places like Baltimore, you can say yes there is a high crime rate and policing there is tough. But by the same token you had cops there that recently had been issued body cams that were so used to planting fake evidence to get convictions they sloppily incriminated themselves on camera:

Police chief’s run their police departments. Police chief’s are appointed by ELECTED mayors. Sheriffs are ELECTED directly in county elections. Voting is better for your community than tearing it up with riots. Nothing is dumber than an angry mob and I’ve never seen anything good come out of one.
So you agree the Boston Tea Party was a mistake?
Actually it was more about the British East India Company wanting a complete monopoly on the tea business within the colonies.
If you wanted an equivalent protest today, you would probably toss Amazon's "biodomes" into Puget Sound.
but of course that wouldn't an environmentally viable solution. Just throw Bezos himself in instead.
I don't know if it's old already but I only heard today.
'Why did the chicken cross the road?'
'To hold up a bible outside a church.'
LOL I saw that on a former posters FB page. To be fair, the car wasn't purchased off budget but was seized from a drug dealer. It's just a propaganda showpiece, but yeah LA could make a buck selling it at auction.
The only actual sport scars US police had were a small number of Police spec Corvettes that I don't think are even made anymore. They were in states with wide open roads like Nevada and Montana, but I doubt they are used just because of liability of high speed chases...
Actually the LAPD Lambo was donated for PR stunts, it was sold at auction a while back...
