    The dumbest videoclips ever!

    My personal leaders:
the second is the fabulous BILLY SQUIER and his prancing around the room:

    2. Billy Squier - Rock Me Tonite
    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZvl2aqIyNg&hl=pl_PL&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WZvl2aqIyNg&hl=pl_PL&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And the absolute leaders to me are the JOURNEY BOYS with their hit Seperate Ways:

    1. Journey - Separate Ways
    <font face="Verdana" size="1" color="#999999"><br/><a style="font: Verdana" href="http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=40578 04">Journey - Separate Ways</a><br/><object width="425px" height="360px" ><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="wmode" value="transparent"/><param name="movie" value="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=4057804,t=1,mt=video"/><embed src="http://mediaservices.myspace.com/services/media/embed.aspx/m=4057804,t=1,mt=video" width="425" height="360" allowFullScreen="true" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent"></embed></object><br/><a style="font: Verdana" href="http://www.myspace.com/dnola82">Big D</a> | <a style="font: Verdana" href="http://vids.myspace.com">MySpace Video</a></font>

You could change the title of this thread to "Career Killers". I still really like Billy. Great music. That video was a mistake.

I love Billy's music and this videoclip too. Always makes me smile. It's dumb as fuck, though.

Plus those videoclips didn't really kill those artists' careers at that time.

The Squier one certainly did. In fact, he has even mentioned in interviews what a career-wrecking artistic disaster making that video it was.

I half-expected to see Aldo Novas "Fantasy" in here somewhere...killer tune, monster riff. The song was so badass that people forgave him for the extra-cheesy video he made for it.

Paradoxically, "Rock Me Tonite" was his biggest hit.

              So was that Journey song.

Chart-wise? I always thought his biggest hits were "The Stroke" or "Everybody Wants You"

                  Well that's questionable but chart-wise:

                  Bilboard Hot 100:
                  1981 "The Stroke" #17
                  1982 "Everybody Wants You" #32
                  1984 "Rock Me Tonite" #15

"Rock Me Tonight" was his biggest hit single, and it's been lights out ever since. He flirted with the charts during the metal years with "Don't Say You Love Me", but that's it.

Here are a pair of losers that deserve to be on anyone's worst of list. The vocal stylings of...Don Johnson and Eddie Murphy. Christ, the eighties positively sucked at times.

                      Oh.My.God.

That Journey one is...well, I haven't found the words to express my shock.

Although around the 2:17 mark is quite amusing, the whole "you want of piece of me?!" stance.

LOL. Don Johnson just oozes the 80's. Gotta love him. How many guys did we see that imitated him? From the clothing to the 5 o'clock shadow to the Miami Vice attitude. Still a great show by the way. Crockett would beat Horatio like a red headed stepchild.
