Van Halen Blues An Ode to Diamond Dave By BlueEyedMurder Ok, I was cleaning out my desk and ran across something I wrote down back in '97? when the new Van-Cherone single first hit the airwaves, and I was still listening to the 2 new songs off of Best of And the DLRBand hadn't came out yet. I was so pissed off with everything that had happened...this is a little poem I wrote...Here goes... Van Halen Blues An Ode to Diamond Dave They used to rock like it's supposed to be, Loud, fast, hard, and mean! Dave sang of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, Instead of love, politics, and matters of the soul. Hey, I wanna rock! Noboday cares about that crap! That shit makes me want to take a fucking nap. Sammy sounded like a valentine, or a politician's speech... Dave was all about sexy women, fast cars, and parties on the beach! 'Cause that's what rock is about, we know life's problems are there, Give us three-and-a-half minutes that we don't have to care. Thought for a while they had seen the error of their ways, Nah, Just tryin' to sell more CD's...it only lasted a few days. The new songs are cool, made buying the Best of not seem dumb, Reminds me, when the closest we came to a VH love song was "Everybody Wants Some" Now what's next? It's new! It's great" It's Van Halen Three!! FUCK! It sound just like Sammy...another whinning PUSSY! Come on back Diamond Dave, some new music, that's what I'm cravin' Remind 'em all that YOU'RE THE REASON THAT THERE IS A VAN HALEN! Say I'm livin' in the past? Maybe I just prefer the best...
