What has happened in rock since Van Halen?

Van Halen is one of the last great important & influential rock bands in rock history who gave rock & roll a good kick in the ass when it needed at the time when VH exploded on the rock scene back in 78 which is why 60's rock & 70's rock will always rule in the name of my bias as well as reality. What happened during the 80's, 90's & today has been nothing but little spurts disguised as explosions like Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Ratt, Metallica, Megadeth, Guns-N-Roses, Nirvana & Pearl Jam just to name a few because their impact has been only minimal as the years go by. Eddie Van Halen & David Lee Roth were the last great rock duo in a rock band in rok history since it was their yin & yang that made VH the kings of rock in those days just like Lennon/McCartney in the Beatles, Jagger/Richards in the Rolling Stones, Townsend/Daltrey in the Who, Page/Plant in Led Zeppelin, Osbourne/Iommi in Black Sabbath, Simmons/Stanley of Kiss & Tyler/Perry of Aerosmith before them because what after has been totally lame.

Kid Rock is the closest thing we got to a Rock Star nowadays.

Ok Wayne L, Im a Van Halen fan (just in case nobody realized :p)
But there has been many bands since the 70's that have made
big impacts on me personally, and the world of Rock.
Randy Rhodes and Ozzy spring to mind, and just for the record,
and please feel free to research this, Hows Metallica compare
for album and record sales against Van Halen ? (All era's)

You dismiss Metallica as some quick breeze on the Rock scene.
Do the figures, get back to us.
Classic Van Halen were the shit, but the 80's and 90's
were Van Hagar, and that was bad. I can think of so
many bands that did more, that Im not even going to
          start to list them.

I agree that Roth/Van Halen was a killer songwriting combo,
but I would argue that Rhodes/Osbourne/Daisley/Kerslake
was a fucking good one too...

          Hetfield/Hammet/Ulrich also....

and yes I know you are 40 and love womens feet !!
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
          Love ya Mary Frances!

Fuck !! That was my post number 5150...

Can I take this opputunity to add with all the sincerity
and honesty I can muster, 5150 sucks !

The album, the walk, the catchcry, "ITS 5150 TIME"

Each album Van Hagar recorded sold less and less,
now we have those three songs on BOBW. All in all,
total shite, total crap, forgotten music.

With Van Halen we had a classic Rock band that
could stand proudly alongside Sabbath and Zep !

Come on Eddie, get your shit together, dont go out
            on this note !!!!!
