View Full Version : Breaking, MAJOR RUMOR

RogueHorseman

This is unconfirmed as of yet, but I just got a call from a trusted friend and business associate who said that this afternoon Van Halen "quietly" cancelled this coming Wednesday nights 9/15 show at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC...

This follows the two previous dates in Charlote, NC and Columbia, SC being cancelled, supposedly due to "scheduling conflict" with a PR show the preceeding Sunday. He said Atlanta was still on the books, the 18th I think, but that Greenville is axed without explanation.

More to come... as stated, strong RUMOR, at this point.

Well, you know, many of us have been hearing things leak and kind of reading between the lines to that effect, with good reason, for weeks now.

My source did speculate and pontificate that "sales were lousy even with many of the Charlotte fans intending to drive down after their show was cancelled, but it happened very suddenly today. I think some major sh*t is going down." he said...

lms2
09-10-2004, 09:31 PM
I don't think it has to do with sales or with Ivan. Am I close?

lms2

Major shit going down. Did you hear that. I hope that Ed is not ill, but just sick of Spam and he has called Dave and Dave said, oh, okay ya bug lug. So then Dave will have to cancel the two shows he has set up, and instead Classic Van Halen will be appearing in Wichita, Kansas in honor of their number one fan!. Yep. you heard it here. :)

Nothing to do with Ivan, that is 100% for certain.

Bi-Lo Center is not a big hall, either, and typically "name" acts have little problem doing well in it since there isn't a multitude of competing A level entertainment to go up against on any given night.

I checked the official site just to see how they were handling it, and it has simply vanished as if the show never existed. This is how they handled all the other cancellations, wasn't it? Spin doctor city... they are so f'n insincere and uncaring. Fakes, phonies... frauds.

Actually, they are not uncaring. They just don't want that pesky bad memories hanging around, so they delete any info pertaining to that occurence. Really very common in the criminally insane.

The Greenville Van Halen concert scheduled for September 15th at the BI-LO Center has been cancelled as a result of rescheduled concerts in Florida, due to Hurricane Frances

of course, if there were enough demand they'd reschedule this one too.

I had a few live boots of theirs back in college.

I used to play Dead Kennedys about as much as Van Halen :)

Black Flag was great, too.

FUCK VAN HAGAR

I love gilligan. We have soo much in common.

The topic is that Van Hagar cancelled another show.

The purpose is to stir up rumors that they are going to CALL DAVE.

The dream is that they will play in Wichita or Denver.

The reality is that I still need a plane ticket to Canada to see Dave.

It already has. I'm still LMAO that they put up 20,000 plus tix in my hometown and only played to an audience of under 9,000. LOL. The radio were giving tickets away on a daily basis so who knows how many were actually sold?

They are papering between 1,000 and 2,000 per night depending on venue/market size.

Right... Like here in the Atlanta market, 96 Rock has been unloading buckets of tickets for a month or two now on air and at remotes, etc. They will hand out hundreds and hundreds more to clients... Its anything but a hot ticket. Even the secondary markets here got huge numbers of comps to this one...

So the residents of Greenville will be spared the agony of having to listen to the FLEECE THE SHEEP 2004 tour? Good for them. They won't have to listen to Spammy butcher a couple CLASSIC VAN HALEN tunes and EVH slobber his way through his 25 year old solo. They should consider themselves "BLESSED"!!!

By the way RIKK, I DIG the new Avatar!

You guys know I love to speculate as much as the next guy, but.....

Well, while they're at it, I betcha they'll definitely cancel the PR show set for Monday, and a good chance they'll also cancel Thursday's Jacksonville show....

Let's face it fellas, this is one major storm coming down there....

Now I concur that the Greenville show is suspect, 'cause that was slated for Wednesday.... So really, if they were to cancel Monday's PR show, what's to prevent them from doing the Greenville show on Wednesday ??

Other than shitty sales, of course.... :D

No telling the number of comps that will be handed out, Phillips is a big joint. 2,000 minimum, I'd say with confidence.

Actual PAID attendance, we will know next Monday.

The place is gonna be 1/2 empty, count on that.

Few more tidbits which came to light today-

1) Bi-Lo Center was notified that the show was cancelled on Wednesday but asked to delay the announcement until Friday. The local promoter and CCC apparently knew they were going to cancel the show as early as a week ago on 9/3...

2) Those asking for refunds are being strongly pushed to accept "converted" tickets to the so-called other local area Atlanta show, which is the better part of 200 miles away. Floor seats, center, starting at row 15  were being offered this morning to callers with Greenville tickets for the Atlanta Phillips show...

3) The rumors are true. Alex IS a cunt.
