Ichiro breaks Sisler's hits in a season record tonight...

I am not an Ichiro fan in the least...but gotta give the fucking guy props...

an 80+ year record broken with two days left in the season...

    nicely done...

One that was once though unreachable also.

    257 hits is insane.

I think there is one obvious unpassable record...2 no-hitters back to back...

      I mean...to beat the record...3 in a row...never will that happen in a million years...no way...no how...uh uh...

but 257 hits in a season is fucking remarkable...

      what's his average?

        .371

        222 singles, another record.

        not much extra base anything.

Jesus...222 singles...but add the stolen bases....and a lot of those singles become doubles and triples...

He is one of those guys that coaches love...because he does what all lead off hitters do...hits it the opposite way...hits it on the ground...and legs out a shitload of hits...

I heard on the radio about a month ago Ichiro's average was only seven points lower than the Mariners winning percentage. Insane.

              I wouldn't doubt it's better now Troy...lmfao...

You know...it's really a great feat...84 year old record...

that's a lot of fucking hits...

and to consider that Ichiro really started off the year in a minor slump for him...

              Unreal...just unreal...

You know I heard he's not even in the top 10 in runs scored. God, Seattle must lead the league in runners left on base and/or hit into double plays.

                  Probably the former...

I can't imagine that Ichiro gets caught up in a lot of double plays...

of course...with all of those singles...

Bret Boone blew this year for most of the year anyways...and they really don't have any other power in that lineup to speak of...although they have some young guys that may pan out...we'll have to see...
