Anyone know how much control the band had on the songlist for BOBW?

I remember AVH saying they had no say in the song selection and had almost no input on the compilation.

Theres a recent radio interview on this site where Al talks about
song selection, and in particular, mixing the order of the songs
so the two eras were not seperated. Sounds like they get a lot
of input to me. Fucking hypocrite bastards they are.

I'm sure Warners, businessmen that they are, said "We don't want the DAVID LEE ROTH ERA i.e. THE SUCCESSFUL VAN HALEN ERA, represented in any way in the cd(pictures, anncedotes,etc.). Lets NOT give the VAST MAJORITY of VAN HALEN FANS WHAT THEY WANT."
SHEMP Van HAlen is a lying, jealous, conniving, CUNT. He is a MAJOR factor in the reasons DAVE isn't back running that band.
              FUCK YOU SHEMP!!!!

didn't Glen Ballard make a statement after the "Finished What You Started" ending was being detected by the sheep that he (Ballard), Edward and Alex made sure that all the recordings on "BOBW" would be remastered as best as they could?

that doesn't sound like they (Big Kunt and Lil Kunt) had nuthin' to do w/ this project, correct?

I remember reading sumthin' like that in ICE mag...

I guess Ed was right about one thing: unless Roth comes back, or until they give proper credit to the original VH, then this band is better left to memory...1978-1984.

THose two FUCK STICKS, EVH & SHEMP, would like to bury the VAN HALEN legacy. 'Cause the SHIT they're coming out with now is forever gettin' compared to CLASSIC VAN HALEN, making it seem even worse than it is. FUCK 'EM!!!

                    DAVE OR THE GRAVE MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!

Of course Ed and Al had no problem being onstage playing Dancing In The Streets with shit-eating grins on their faces (or was that just the booze) throughout the Diver Down tour and the US Festival. Guess what they did with Roth only looked weak in hindsight, as opposed to when it was taking place and classic Van Halen (and the fans) were digging every minute of it.

You know what? Dancing In The Streets wouldn't make the top ten of classic VH tunes I listen to either. But even Van Hagar at their best doesn't stack up to that track.

I think its safe to say that the BOBW is just a pile of shit. With all due respect to the DLR songs on it but its just a way for people to think VH is back in full effect.

Well I have some grim news cause Van Hagar is back and its going right down the shitter. Just where Sammy belongs too. And the bottom of a cesspool is where all his music came from and where it should forever remain.

I will take the worst Roth song (I'll Wait) and listen to it over the best Van Hagar song, whatever that is.

Actually I'd rather listen to "Diamond Dave," terrible as that is, over any Van Hagar.

Yeah they should have never mixed it up. They just should have made two dis, one for the Van Halen era, and one for yeah. That would have showed them that roth was and still is better than spammy
